Now I will feel guilty about this until I use a less-broken shottype (tbh I only used SakuyaB because I was sick of getting destroyed by Stages 2 and 5 with MarisaA ;_; )

Stage 2 is trivial like there was no tomorrow. If anything, you can memorize it. I usually just hang around the bottom corners and weave back and forth the bottom of the screen whenever enemies appear. Stage 5 has one difficult spot. If you can just bomb that you should be in the clear.

6 spellcards captured so I barely missed Imperishable Shooting. Also, screwed up more than I should have.

Irrelevant, because you simply will not be able to do the spell card without using that safespot. Go on and try, you will either fail miserably or will subconsciously always move to that vertical line to dodge the suns.

See, that's different. The trick to trivializing Lavatein is something that is consciously done, and is completely different than the one for Ten Evil Stars in that you will come directly into the area where you'd safespot whether you want to or not. I've tried doing Ten Evil Stars without the safespot, and like I said I captured it by squeezing into the safespot line whenever the suns drew close.

I hope this works out. When you say "using the safespot" though, exactly how lenient are you? I have the feeling ZUN meant for the suns' hitboxes to be smaller to make the attack a bit more reasonable, though he obviously didn't notice the safebox it created (this assumes the safebox wasn't intentional, of course). I know I stayed along that line a couple of times in the process of circling around (because I knew I didn't need to move that far out of the way of each sun), but in my defense I don't think I was ever between two suns while along that line. My approach was more, dodge one sun at a reasonable distance, then dodge the second by moving behind the first, and repeat. But I guess you're the real judge of how well I did that.

I have done Ten Evil Stars without safe-spotting too and so has Formless i'm pretty sure. Its not that its particularly hard to do but as Donut says; its something you do unconsciously because you know its possible.

I also got a million points on 11-8 in DS. Turns out the WR is 1.7 million. I could get something in the vicinity of that if i could just land those 300K shots everytime!

That's probably how i sound. I didn't mean to. I apologize. I just meant to say to SenSageUn that he should try and get a clear with a forward-focus character of preference sometime. That just feels more right than barely scrubbing a 1cc through resource abuse. Trust me. I know about it. Until then, yes. He should feel happy.

With regards to IN Team.

Rather broken than worthless or memorization dependant. But all that is something people will disagree with so lets just say that i love the Marisa fight but find Reimu's fight pretty... bad. That boils the choice down to Border Team and Ghost Team. Ghost Team is like SA MarisaA. If you were unfocused as Yuyuko focused as Youmu they would be great but in order to keep any real damage up with Youmu you will have to hug the bottom to keep Myon aiming upwards. And it will make the stages much more complicated. As you will probably want to be focusing during boss fights you will have a very weak shot.

EDIT: Got 11-8 up to 1.1 million.

I had 1cc'ed 8 of the games (everything included, except StB - which I also had cleared) before I finally got my SakuyaB PCB clear  :V

Just captured the original "Danmaku Bounded Field" for the first time. And by the way, no safespot on the fourth wave.

Also of note, I ended up activating the BoLaD safespot by accident, if that means anything (because I'm normally against safespots).

The safespot is more dangerous than actually dodging it...it's not hard to do properly at all :V

Bah. I just realized how many lolcaptures I have as replays in UFO. Two no-focus captures of Murasa's survival on Normal, a damn near perfect run of Byakuren while no-focus Normal except for one bomb. A perfect Normal Shou while focus-tapping to the music.

But about the Netherworld Team, if you actually try to use Youmu's shot unfocused and you get hit... Deathbomb and you get Yuyuko's Win Sign "Skip to Next Spellcard".

Although it still means having to go unfocused, meaning ridiculous Youmu speed and manipulating Myon. Aside from that, you do get the strongest shot and the strongest deathbomb.

And Youmu's regular bomb is stronger than her deathbomb.

But either will end just about any attack in the game if you're hitting with it.

If you only have one bomb left, it's probably better to use Yuyuko's deathbomb anyways.

I bothered to try PCB Hard today, since I hadn't 1cc'ed that yet. Went in without having memorized anything. Did it first try, SakuyaB, 3/3 left, and a few of the deaths were with 4 bombs in stock.

Damn Merlin, I wasted 4 bombs on her opener.

I suppose I'm improving...

Anyway, that makes four Hard 1ccs.

Just 1cc'd Phantasm Romance Another Mode. Of course, in doing this I realize that not only is the special Yukari boss fight unavailable if you lose even one life before stage 4, but you also lose out on your chance to play extra (which is what I REALLY want to be able to do, since extra Reimu looks like a lot of fun). Also Mima is a really annoying boss. Why do half her attacks involve spawning things on top of you?

If you're always winning with several lives in stock that's a sign you should be trying something harder instead of fooling around below your current level. Scoring, challenge runs, another game, whatever.

If you're not consistently winning with several lives in stock, then these are the flukes, not the 0/0 clears.
