>If we focus on a piece that is missing, and let our mind drift, can we get a sense of direction, somehow? Kind of like letting this feeling of a particular absence act like a mental dowsing rod, gently pulling our thoughts towards something. Don't force it. Just be with it for a while

>You try to focus on something missing, and just let your thoughts drift.
>You...find you have a curious sense of being out of place. You shouldn't be here. Here is a strange concept, as you think on it. You should be somewhere...less bright, less open. That feels more like home, more like your small, perpetually dank little house. That's how it should be.

>Is our house here small and perpetually dank? Or is this something else?

>You try to focus more on this feeling. Now that you're really thinking about it, you can't help but feel a sort of alienation now.
>Your home is not very large; it's only half of a house after all, and you do tend to never open the curtains. Sunlight inside just felt weird. It's home...and now it really doesn't feel like it should be.

>Memory may not be our strong suit, but this is important. Try to muster the extra focus to pull it out. Try going slowly chronologically backwards. 'Feel' the sense of our memory as we go backwards. Can we isolate it at all?

>Does this feel like a point where a memory is wrong or missing? Or a point beyond which none of our memories are right?

>You try your best to reconstruct your memories. This quickly becomes futile; after a couple days in the past, your memories start to fall apart. You know you're mixing things up, blurring events together, recalling things in the wrong order. Just a little bit after first, but moreso the further you go back.
>You cannot find a distinct when things go from acceptable to wrong, but you feel it is around some point months ago.

>You just let your mind drift through a number of things. The world is wrong, this you know well. You have a feeling that this isn't where you should be, and that at some point, your memories have gone wrong. As well, you know something was taken from you. Thoughts of wings stay with you, as does a sense of lost freedom. You aren't sure why you feel any of these things, but you do.
