What are the differences anyways? God mode has more firepower, more cancelling enemies or something? Or just considerably less bullets?
Bullets are mostly the same and cancel enemies are the same, but there's a little more slowdown on account of the extra firepower/more stuff going on. Aside from that it's pretty much just the firepower; some places are a little different, but not significantly harder.

God Mode is considerably easier than Ultra and bosses die faster so you endure less of their deadly attacks.

You also don't have to worry about TLB's.

And I think it's more than "a little more" slowdown.  :V

DISREGARD, I actually interpreted this post differently, hence my initial post.

Speaking of TLBs...is there a point to Spiritual Larsa except for being hidden and a bonus?
Reaching her means reaching her without a lost life(and being already too good for God), and most of her battle is really easy.

Probably helps with your score ?

The very end of Spiritual Larsa is fucking hard if you wanna play it for score. Doing so means you have to manage to get around the entire final attack without bombing, which is very, very hard to do. But if you can pull it off, it's a sizeable bonus, too.

You still do.
Ultra Mode's condition to unlock the TLB is to 1CC the entire game including Larsa, then Ex-Larsa comes out as a TLB.
God Mode's condition is to no-miss (and no-bomb as well? Not sure) the game up to Larsa, then Sp-Larsa comes out as a TLB.

Yeah I kinda know that, but okay, I'll be sure to share your worry in your stream 1cc attempt.  :V

(And no, you can still use bombs for God TLB)

If it was No Miss up to Larsa I would probably practice to go for it. Thought that would take a while. Nope, you have no miss her too.

Spiritual Larsa doubles your clear bonus.

Oh, and those stage 5 Lanterns can go die. At least God mode doesn't have stupid stage 1 rocks.

Oh hell yes Mushi arrived today. But I don't have a JP PS2, so I will have to content myself with looking at the manual until Swap Magic arrives.

 :]Hellsinker! :]

Played it for the first time a few days ago, and it confused me like mad. Tried it again today...and I'm still baffled. It's a pretty cool game from what I played, but I'm not grasping a lot of important stuff, unless all those meters are just for show.

It probably wouldn't be allowed in STGT, so I'm gonna have to say no. Besides, that'd interfere with your charge shot, anyway.

Lots of bars are intimidating at first, but after some experimentation and getting to learn the game, it does seem kind of intuitive in a roundabout way.

LtC has a very good Hellsinker guide in Shmups Forum's Strategy section. It helped me understand the mechanics of Hellsinker tremendously; in my opinion, the game only appears to be more complicated than it really is, which makes me wonder if it was an intentional move by the developer. Replays are also wonderful because they see everything in action. http://shmups.system11.org/viewtopic.php?t=26334

In other news, I sent my payment to NCSX. Now I get to wait for the 360 and games to ship and arrive. Yay. I hope I get to spend at least a week with it before I start getting busy again in the Fall. I think I'm actually looking forward to Deathsmiles more than Ketsui, probably because I've been abstaining from everything Deathsmiles all this time (along with a few other CAVE games), whereas I've spent more time enveloped in Ketsui replays and music. As for Futari, its Novice mode will probably be a good way for me to get used to using a stick. I sure hope I have some money in my spending pool left over for Black Label as well.

So was PS2 Mushi worth it? I've heard there's a lot of slowdown and scaled-back graphics. Should have found out before I bought it, but then again I shouldn't believe everything I hear on TvTropes.

Yeah, it's still worth it. Otherwise, if you're like me and you actually get the chance to play the original PCB of Mushi, your opinion's gonna drastically change.
You're gonna have to make due with the PS2 version and enjoy the game, even with its downsampled graphics and 'inaccurate' slowdown.

Arcade mode is the original 240x320 resolution, while X360 mode is well... a high-res remake.

It's hardly a perfect port, but it still is a wonderful game.

It also has my favorite soundtrack, like, ever. =O

I took the easy way out and found a complete save file for HELLSINKER. :<
I regret it, but I see I've been missing out on a LOT of extra features from not 1CCing the game.

I find it hard to find anything Hellsinker. Replays, unlock files--anything like that; if it's not from a Touhou game, I don't know where to look. :\

Ironically, the site I got the save data from mostly deals with H-game save data.... which is pretty awkward, since I just came across it while scouring around for... yeah.
