Hey, guys, it appears Stella Vanity has been cancelled or just halted...? :(

http://stellavanity.seesaa.net/

As I said at DS, I had a bad feeling when the entire scoring system (which was good and nice) was ditched for that shitty attempt at Progear in vertical form, with the enemies reduced in size (resulting in me having a hard time targeting them since I can't see that well) and stages reduced in length, lost of synchronisation with the music/events and an overpowered second character... It just never cut it for me, I kept comparing the trials and the original trial (0.10a or b was) seriously kicked the new ones in the nuts.

Maybe we can email him and tell him to release whatever he has so far with the old scoring and the synchronisation he was initially aiming for? Whatever, after this, I knock on f---- wood and hope Crimzon Clover will come out.

ARGH!!!! I'M SAD!

Maybe Alltynex2nd and Sora will ease my pain later on.

To Zengeku about Futari

Original and Maniac are great, especially the Black Label versions. God mode is great. Get the Black Label download ASAP because it is much better than 1.5.

Ultra mode makes UFO look good.

All my games after Mushi Futari last year came from NCSX. Cheaper, faster shipping and they under declare it for me. Never once I've been taxed.

I already bought the games just fine (and taxless), thanks. I am now the happy owner of a rather respectable console-less collection.

Goddamn you all I still can't 1CC it yet.

Start bombing early and often, win. That's all there is to it, really.

Which reminds me that the other day I 1DNB'ed stage 6 despite always being on the wrong side of the screen for the entire stage. Started it by messing up where I was supposed to go to very early and very badly, and completely winged it from there whitout ever managing to undo the mess. Funtimes.

Again, as usual: if anyone knows why is stage 5 so much harder than stage 6, I'm listening.

Is that an Xbox live DLC? How much it cost?

And its hard to imagine anything make UFO look good.

Yeah, Futari Black Label is a DLC. Because the game is region-free, you can use points from any region to download it -- 1200, I think.

Futari 1.5 Stage 3 Maniac NDNB in Training.

Why the hell is this stage and boss easier on Maniac than it is on Original?

Ultra mode is fine. It's just batshit hard. :V It's basically a Futari second loop without having to do a first loop beforehand.
Again, as usual: if anyone knows why is stage 5 so much harder than stage 6, I'm listening.
It's the asshole streaming section halfway through with the tanks and the popcorn enemies chasing you and the big structures in the middle firing huge clusters of crap everywhere. ;_; Ruins most of my runs; it's destroyed every perfect run I had to that point, at any rate.
Let's fight.

Black Label Original 1cc. Wow, that was pretty easy. Ended with 2/1 and 301M score. Hax firepower, only Larsa was harder from 1.5. First death was at st5 while trying (and failing) to get that 1up.

Hahaha, you say it's easy now... it gets completely batshit insane when you get that counter up and no-miss most of the game :ohdear:

^Which I could do if I stopped derping. Same for 1cc Maniac. And 1.5 Original with Reco.It is No Miss No Bomb though that you have to do, at least until you max the rank, then the bomb penalty isn't as ridiculous.

I keep making stupid misses on easy stuff though.

If you have a lot of lives in reserve and you have no bombs left as you're about to finish off Larsa, I highly recommend you suicide.

Got to Stage 5 on Maniac. Maybe if I hadn't derped and died 3 times on Stage 4. Also, how do you score well enough to get the second extend? I'm not even close.

Edit: I didn't expect to ND Stage 3 when I entered the boss with only 1 bomb and then had to bomb the first phase. I don't trust myself to do that thing's final phase without bombing in a full run, so it's an autobomb if I have one.

Psyche! The worst run ever made it to the second loop.

If only I hadn't entered 1-6 3/1(already subpar) and finished it 0/0 (sgfjkghlfdghkjh brb seppuku)

Sooo, I finally bout Futari !
Spoiler:
Though I wonder if I should've went for ESP2 instead, as it's the last one in stock :ohdear:
I also snatched a used DOA4 for $15 on the way back. Both games are fucking fantastic :D (heck, $15 is a steal. The disk looks brand new and loads even faster than Futari)

Which ship did you use?
A-L. I'm surprised it didn't screw up the stages as badly as usual :3

Congratulations from me too! I still remember how great I felt when I pulled off my first DDP 1cc. That changed arcade shmups from crazy stuff insane proplayers play to something I can actually do. After that there was no turning back.
Mmm ... which game should I play next ? I'm thinking of goddamn UFO Guwange and Dai Ou Jou.

Whaaaaaat the hell. Just because I rarely bomb during the rest of the game, my mind refuses to bomb on the Castle, which is pretty much supposed to be bombed most of the way through. So I Game Over because I'm retarded and died instead of bombing or activating Power Mode. Oh, and then guess what.

I proceed to ND Tyrannosatan. Insert various swears here.

In the very next DDP run I perfect stages 1-3, use a pair of bombs during stage 4..... and game over on stage 5.  :derp:

Guwange was the one I went for next (just becausse it's so cool). I still consider it one of my better achievments and I still can't do it consistently. Mainly because the final attack is so evil.

DOJ is hard as fuck, probably one of Cave's hardest games. Even the first loop. Good luck with that.

EDIT: I find Progear 1st loop relatively easy. That might be worth considering.

Lately I've been feeling a mighty powerful desire to get good at Battle Garegga.  Latest run, stage 5 first midboss, 4.6 million herpa derp derp.  Why is this game so goddamn hard.

Or Garegga.

By the way, good luck, team Kaleidoscope! (have you guys thought about a banner?)
neku: now for something important.
Translations.
How much time do you guys think it will take for HM to be translated? Besides everyone's story modes and the whole menus, there's also the fact that the way HM's programmed is different from all other games. I bet it'll take two months.

lusvik: I don't mind about playing HM in japanese. The language of punching other people is international.

A second loop that makes it so you don't have to go through the original loop first. Good. Like it should be. It would be like having to go through Touhou Normal every time you want to play Extra.

Eh, I like the second loop format myself, it gives you a nice 'score on the first loop, survive on the second loop' thing to work with. It's mostly an arcade tradition though - if you prove that the game is too easy for you, it treats you to a much harder version with extra stuff. :3

Honestly, I'd probably have spent more time in Ultra than I have yet if it was an extra loop after Original or something. :V
Spoiler:
This is mostly because God Mode is more fun.
