More specifically, I'm playing the C74 version. Which, from what I've heard, is much harder than its 67 counterpart.
That's interesting, because I've always thought the C67 version to be harder.  Like, way, way harder. :V

The C74 version of BSR is pretty old now. The latest version is 3.001. I'm not sure what the C74 -> 3.000 and 3.000 -> 3.001 patches change though; probably minor bug fixes. EDIT: Apparently the C74 -> 3.000 patch includes difficulty adjustments and other gameplay-related improvements.

Commencing acquisition of Daioh.  I'm going to be disappointed if I open this up and find that it has nothing to do with cute girls doing cute things.

I'll make a note of that and try it at some other point. Like, when I get home later in this month.

Yeah, it is.

Anyone who says C74 is harder than C67 is kind of crazy. :S

To hell with Daioh. Too many buttons, not enough fun.

It seems you can get by with just the purple homing, missiles, and bomb of your choice(I go with laser), so three buttons, which shouldn't be a problem..

Also, for people that don't know, it seems the purple shot gives you the most points for hitting enemies.  So for popcorn enemies and milking easy bosses you'd want to use purple, while for large enemies and killing bosses fast, use missiles.

So like is the original Mushihimesama able to be emulated on MAME?

Because I know Futari can't, but what about the original?

Also FFFFFFFFFFFFFFF I finally have enough money to buy a 360 and import Futari but buying a system for one game is retarded arghhhhhh why are all the 360 games I'd want also available on PS3 which I have ;__________;

Futari
ESPGaluda 2
effin Ketsui
Deathsmiles (x2)
Daifukkatsu (there is no reason to not see a port of this this year)
Akai Katana

Seriously, a J360 can play much better games than a PS3 :V

Tried modding my PS2 to play Japanese games before importing Mushi, didn't work, so I never got to play it.

Also I'm not importing a Japanese console just so I can play a few niche games (that I will also have to import).

Tell me I'm not the only one who saw Daioh's Stage 2 kinda sorta boss before the real boss thingy and thought of this.

"Hooray" for living where everything console is an overpriced import anyway, I guess  :V

Choosing NTSC-J over the other options ("local" is PAL, by the way) was a no-brainer since I can get most of the non-J stuff for the same price regardless of region anyway, and I'm saving money like crazy by importing directly instead of buying at local retailers, even more now that Galuda II and DOJ slipped through customs even though they really shouldn't  :D  (Ketsui also arrived tax-free but that one was expected)

Well, bit the bullet and started playing DDP recently. Tonight I achieved my goal and got the S3 boss down (despite losing a full bomb stock  :derp:).

Futari:
-Oh god the game looks and feels so smoooooth!
-I had no idea Spiritual Larsa was so easy. I spammed my way to her with infinite bombs and perfected the whole first lifebar phase. Even the second phase took only like 5 bombs. I guess she's supposed to be more of an reward than obstacle.
-I can join the club of people who almost perfected Novice Orginal on their first try. I used one autobomb at the final bosses first attack where I stupidly rammed one of the first bullets she fired. That mode is like Touhou Easy with autobomb.
-Is there any reason to play the Arcade modes? Are there any differences besides the graphics?

I didn't play Deathsmiles enough to fully get into it yet but it seems fun. I think I have gotten better with the controller than I thought, Ketsui is just so goddamn hard naturally.

Yeah but you still need to no-miss the standard st5 boss and no way I'm doing that without bombspam.

All the Original modes in general feel a lot tamer than the one in the first game. I think I could 1cc them without too much trouble.
