Consistently getting around 70m, playing at all 3s. However, I've only just realised that you want to activate power-up mode when there's a lot of crap all over the screen, so maybe that'll improve. :V

Also, 2.9bil in Futari Arrange Original. I will get that 3bil. >:V

So that new Cave shmup that was announced?
The name is called Akai Katana and goddamn, the art style looks fantastic from the PV (which contains no gameplay, btw).

ALSO, WHAT?! NO FUCKING WAY.
DODONPACHI DAIFUKKATSU ANNOUNCED FOR IPHONE.
Holy fucking shit at both.

To all, I'll give Rob's advice:

Go play Mars Matrix.

...

 :V

edit: to avoid being so spammy, gotta report my copy of Suguri Perfect Edition arrived today. I'm trying to get used to the mechanics, I'm not used to be forced to lock-on on just one enemy after playing Layer Section, Ray Crisis, Crimzon Clover and many others where I can lock-on the entire screen and release a glorious, massive stream of pew pew and guided laser missiles with Macross tributes. But the games are cute, and the music is nice plus the whole presentation is quite well done.

I promised myself to buy whatever device Daifukkatsu would be ported to, but seriously, iPhone? Now Cave is just trolling me.

Calm down, people. It's not like they'd abandon creating an accurate port of one of their most well-known games. If anything, the fact that they're porting it to things at all means it'll probably be on the 360 sooner rather than later.
Spoiler:
Unless of course this turns out to be Ketsui all over again.
It's kind of odd and unexpected that they're doing it in this order, but honestly, I'm not sure why it's such a big deal. :V

I've been out of it for quite a while. Apparently there's an iPhone port of ESPGaluda II as well. Looking at a video of the game, even if I did own an iPhone, I can't see myself playing it on such a small device. I can't visualize myself actually being able to dodge anything well.

I wonder what else I missed...

Play Giga Wing AND Mars Matrix. And while we are at it,  Battle Garegga and Armed Police Batrider.

Everyone happy that way :derp:

Anyway, Suguri is making me feel rusty I can't even pass the first boss in normal mode. How come I can breeze through DoDonPachi and actually 1cc it but I can't even freaking beat the first boss in Suguri... I'm getting the "you are doing it wrong" vibes each time I get ⑨'d. *starts reading the manual*

Finally dropped the Scrooge McBarrett act and ordered the 360. Arriving late august, which is a non-issue since I still have tons of unfinished business with those MAME ports anyway.

Also: much cheaper than I imagined. Even adding the rather expensive shipping and goddamn insane import fees (60% over products plus shipping!) it was still much cheaper than going to a local store and buying a "local" 360 - turns out our "local" consoles are apparently European imports.  :V  And there's always the off-chance that it'll slip under the radar anyway because lolbrazil.

More and more people in this thread have been jumping the J360 bandwagon. I expect Bananamatic/Aisha to be next on the list. :V

Is it illegal to import a Japanese 360? Because that's the biggest resistance I'm getting around here.

Also, do I need to worry if it will work on my TV?

I think a better question would be WHY it should be illegal. Honestly, if I think about all these games being exported from Japan...

Yeah, that was pretty stupid.  :V

I blame paranoid parents.

Anyway, I just 1LC'd Ex Extra and I think the game pulled an Ura Loop on me.   :o
Because damn, that second loop was pretty hard. And much harder than I remembered the second loop being.
Still made it to the 2-5 midboss because lol 8 lives at the end of the first loop.

J360s are NTSC, I believe. (You might want to double check; I could be wrong.)  Seeing as you live in the Netherlands, I imagine that you might need a stepdown transformer, and I'm not really sure what you'd need to do to get it to work with a PAL television. I say this with absolutely no confidence, but I think systems sold in Hong Kong, Korea, China (etc) are PAL and are compatible with Japanese games. I wouldn't be surprised if I was wrong, though.

The transformer is unnecessary; the easiest thing to do is to just buy a local 360 power cable. European ones work fine on J360s, that's how mine is running. :V As for whether it'll work on your TV, that's mostly dependent on how old it is; HDTVs will be fine and some of the less ancient CRTs can handle NTSC too, I've found.
Let's fight.

So on a whim I decided to break Yakouga 4 out, and I managed to somehow 1CC it for the first time. Words cannot describe how utterly bizarre and filthy this game is, but it's so awesome. I wish there was a translation for the menus out there.

Just did a Futari 1.5 original run with Palm Abnormal.

1 stupid miss before the Stage 4 boss. if it weren't for that, I would have gotten 4 No Miss bonuses in the run. Derped early stage 5 way too much. Manage to luck dodge a lot of stuff before Larsa.

Arrive at her 2/0.

Almost capture the first part of the lifebar but die near the end of it. Bomb her second phase once. Bomb her third phase twice near the beginning. Manage to dodge enough that I got a 10,000,000 clear bonus barely getting me past 200,000,000.

Now I guess I have to do it with Reco now.

Tried another Rosa run. Didn't even break 90,000,000 because of a ridiculously stupid death. Would have probably beaten my Arcade score if not for that.

Ended on 4-1 Ex, full death mode. That Extra stage just annihilated my life stock, though 1 of the deaths shouldn't have even happened.
