The default difficulty is 2 on japanese versions and 4 on US/EURO ones, but they play in the same way: so, no necessity to change things.
Apparently, not.

Okay, got 11*10^12 (those red numbers) in Giga Wing. I tried to do some reflector milking in the early stages and switched to survival around stage 4 when things started to feel a bit too rough for screwing around. Final death was extremely stupid. I died at the final bosses engine blast because I thought it wouldn't reach me that far.

Okay, this is a lot harder than I thought it would be. And to think I said I'd probably have a level 3(No Ex) 1cc within a few days elsewhere. Maybe Level 2 with some level 3s, but not level 3 all the way.

Yeah, even my best 1CC had rank control (read, kept lv.3 usage to a minimum).

Huh, I was kind of thinking the same thing. I guess I'll have to keep that in mind once I start playing. :ohdear:

there are 2 kinds of people in this world

Those who love dimahoo and those who pretend that they don't like it

Just got to Jitterbug in MBL 1.1

I only had half a life left though, so I quickly died.

Edit: And apparantly Score Attack lets you continue because some people on the leaderboards used them. Lame.

voted for Dimahoo because Banana liked this game enough even though he seemingly isn't going to score well :p

I'm fine with either Varth/Batrider/Dimahoo * next week :p (will focus on Giga Wing, though. It's our only chance and time to play this game.)

Also, congratulations for everyone's efforts in TSS!

Translations.
How much time do you guys think it will take for HM to be translated? Besides everyone's story modes and the whole menus, there's also the fact that the way HM's programmed is different from all other games. I bet it'll take two months.

lusvik: I don't mind about playing HM in japanese. The language of punching other people is international.

Enigma: Is the translation really as hilariously bad as we heard it was gonna be? Also, are the voiceovers in English or Japanese?

EDIT: Fuck yes shipping notice from Amazon

It's coming home. :3

Translation only really seems bad at the Sakura fight. Not really as bad anywhere else.

Just game overed on Jitterbug in MBL 1.1 again. Reached him with only 1 life due to screw ups and no powerup to use. Got over 13 billion though.

Edit: okay some of the endings are pretty bad about it too.

My broken 360 returned from repairs today, worked out of the box.

My copy of Deathsmiles is arriving tomorrow.

I really need to figure out how scoring works in normal Deathsmiles and MBL. I have an idea how it works in the 1.1 versions, but I don't know if I'm missing anything in that as well.

Did another MBL 1.1 attempt earlier doing level 3 for all levels. Wroon is a pain in the ass on level 2 and 3, but 1 bomb gets rid of it. Derped the Volcano stage so much I knew I was screwed. So I just went to the Ice Palace Extra stage instead of the final. Lost my last life right before Ozier was about to be defeated. I could have possibly lasted a lot longer on the final stage maybe and gotten a lot more points if I had managed to defeat him since I wasn't going to try the other Extra stage with only 1 life in stock. Got a little over 25,000,000,000 IIRC. I'd have to check the score on that.

Wish I could do level 999s on it, but I suck way too much at that difficulty level. Pretty much instant game over if I choose it. Also, how do you pick what level the extras and final stage are at?

So I played Ketsui X mode today for the first time in a while. A few minor screwups aside, I cleared most of the stages easily, setting myself up to break my high score by a good 50m or so. Everything was going smoothly, and I perfected the final boss.

Suddenly, DOOM appears and wrecks my shit.

Even though it's easier than the regular DOOM, I still lost both of my remaining lives to the first phase... it's so much harder under pressure, like everything in this crazy game. Still, it was very cool seeing it on an actual run. Finished with 298m.
Let's fight.

Deathsmiles Mega Black Label 1cc.

 I went level 2, level 2, level 3, level 3, level 3, level 3, final

Didn't even get the second extend. Died twice in the run though. Once due to collision damage and the other due to no bombing Jitterbug.

Broke 10m for the first time in Deathsmiles, managed a 1CC up to the 3-2 boss. I might actually be able to 1CC the entire game this month! :V

When you exit power-up mode, is your +value reset or does it stay where it was before?

Tried Normal Arcade with Windia. Game overed before Jitterbug was defeated. Probably have 1cc'd if it weren't for that slowdown death on the Volcano stage where I died when it sped up. Barely got the 45,000,000 life.

More Ketsui X mode. I completely thrashed my old score again, no-missing up to the final clonespam and finishing with 391m. I might have no missed the whole stage if not for a surprise; early in Stage 5 I triggered the uncancellable Ura suicide bullets rather than the regular X mode cancelable ones... still cancellable with bullet cancel enemies, but you can't destroy them with lock shot anymore. Finished with a load of lives, but didn't see DOOM. :< I guess it must be another deaths+bombs requirement, though it seems like it's more than 6... I suppose I'll need to experiment.
Let's fight.

Yet another Windia run that should have 1cc'd. But nope, I stupidly die on the Volcano stage, then I had to go die twice on the Volcano boss from collision damage without bombing it. Then I derp ob the final stage hitting the only bullet that was even near me at the time. Then I obviously failed to NDNB Jitterbug.

Edit: Seems I was powering up at the wrong time on the Volcano stage. Assuming I enter the stage with the power up meter charged, I was able to get 27-32 million off that stage by changing where I powered up. Of course, now if I die before finishing that power up, it's pretty much a restart. And considering I take the volcano as my 6th stage.

Edit again: Windia 1cc. Didn't enter the Volcano stage at 1,000 toward the powerup, and I almost died before I could activate it. And I messed up the scoring on that stage. Managed to reach Jitterbug with 3 lives to use on him. He killed me twice and I collided with him on the last one instead of hitting a bullet. Bombspammed the crap out of Tyrannosatan.

One for each mode. Arcade/360 count as 1 mode, so it's not 4 boards just for Normal and MBL.Throw in the 1.1s too. If not the normal 1.1, then the MBL version of 1.1.
