>"Mokou said something like that," says Aya. "Besides, you came to me asking for a favor. So drop the tough talk."

To tell the truth, I am somewhat surprised that you haven't suffered retribution just yet, or if you have, its effects are not obvious."

>"Oh, I know," says Aya, her confrontational tone fading away. "And a few people have tried. I'm not worried. Most of them can't even get close to me, thanks to the guards. Of those than can, not many want to risk angering Lord Tenma. Outside, well, first they have to find me. And then they have to actually get me. The majority, they've just got their danmaku, and I can dodge that well enough. After that, well, journalism's already a dangerous job."

>"You'd think that," says Aya, "But it never really seems to change. I guess for every person that gets angry, someone else gets curious."

>How much progress have we made to the river?

>"Maybe, but that's true of practically everything. Really, I just wish I was allowed to display it publicly, but Lord Tenma doesn't want the trouble. And I suppose it's nice enough if people come and see once in awhile."
>You've made it part of the way down the mountain. Flying would probably be a lot faster.

>"She's Shikieiki Yamaxanadu," Aya says, as she takes flight near you. "We met once, during the Flower Incident. I was rather harried then, couldn't get a decent shot to save my life. I just call her the Yama because it's easier on the tongue."

>"Well, Yama is also a title," says Aya, "Enma, too. And for years. Just, the rare times she comes out, I always miss her."

>"Yeah. I'm not expecting anything right now, but I'm hoping to get lucky."
>You're passing over the human village now. Aside from a bit of smoke in the air here and there, the sky is empty and clear. The clouds have cleared up, and there's a lovely view of the stars.

>You continue northward. Soon you can see the Nameless Hill and the Garden of the Sun. There is some motion, you think, in the latter!
>"Oh, quite," says Aya. "Hopefully that large woman is enjoying it."

>You fly and little lower and descend, trying to get a look at things.
>Hmmm, that looks kind of like Yuka, you think. She seems to be tending to her flowers. It wouldn't be unusual at all, really, if not for the fact that the flowers around her are glittering oddly.

>Have we ever properly met Yuka prior to this?
>If not, what do we know about her?

>Not really. You're aware of her existence, and she's likely aware of yours. You know she and Yukari has something of a rivalry, and likely a history to go along with it. You know Yukari seems to take it in good spirits, but you have no idea how Yuka regards it. You know she's got a propensity to be violent when piqued.

>"Ah. Ambitious of you," says Yuka. "And they're very special. I've done a little cross pollinating here and there, toward breeding a flower with a natural mirror sheen to their petals. You're seeing bits of moonlight bounce off them."
