All that work I did and you're still using toast?

PM me, good sir, if you wish to inquire into such matters.  :3

Half finished with Utena. Filler is growing in frequency, bitches still be crazy, plot in full swing. On a related note, some of the black rose breakdown scenes feel a bit forced.

Queens Blade is.... I dare say, an acquired taste.

(as Ammy puts it)
seriously, if you can pile all your ecchi fetishes and breasts and basically magic power lesbians in one show and explode it with sublime (and I do mean very sublime) plot, would you? If you do, you get Queens Blade.
Now, don't get me wrong, Queen's Blade was a fine show. It was bold, strong, and of course, very appealing. It also tends to appeal to those with somewhat more obscure fetishes---
at least occasionally.  :ohdear:

Thing is, with all these ecchi shows and nonsense happens that murders everything.

I haven't finished season 2, though.

I have like, 3 volumes of Claymore I haven't read yet, and can't remember dickshit about the previous ones, and am not too thrilled to read them?
Was it supposed to be like this? :/

Three episodes to go in Eden of the East. As with Arakawa Under the Bridge, I'm happy with the message in this one, which in this case is "wanting to make your country a better place to live can result in disaster, depending on what idea people have of what 'better' is".

"Human history and growth are both linked closely to strife. Without conflict, humanity would have no impetus for growth. When humans are satisfied with their present condition, they may as well give up on life."

About 17 episodes into Hayate the Combat Butler. Seems fairly unremarkable so far, but people seem to like it so I'll stick with it and hope it improves.

Hyakka Ryouran ep 1 is out!

grab your decently animated sword lesbians in 1600s Japan history inaccurately portrayed here. But seriously, I am just watching this because I am a Sengoku history fan.

also:

should I at all start watching Hetalia?
I heard it is pretty cool/gay depending on what you say I might watch it.
what is worth watching about it? it is rather lengthy and seems... entertaining. I heard there is an Alice like character (Belgium) and that excites me.

The manga and second season are pretty great.  The first season was alright at best.  It went off and did its own thing.  But like I said the more manga faithful season 2 is a lot better.

This is awesome, in every sense of the word. Also INK BLOTS censorship omg. I'd buy the shit outta the DVD.

Hyakka Ryouran is really beautifully drawn, no question. I wonder how fans in Japan will react to the decidedly overt right wing message it seems to be putting across.

EDIT: Yeah, don't think I'll be following this one. We're ten minutes in and already we have the protagonist unwittingly take photos of a naked 15-year-old girl, and then they get into some argument, and et cetera. It's samurais and katanas and feuds and shit - with so much potential for epicness, why do we need this tired ecchi device?

Ah well.

I totally think you both should.  The way it portrays history is pretty amusing, plus its only five minutes an episode.

The Legend of Legendary Heroes...watch the first 4 episodes. Seriously, that show was something I never expected to be as awesome as it is.

The main lead is voiced by Jun Fukuyama so that's nice.

I know right, if you really wanted Samurai and all that shit, I guess Sengoku Basara is the way to go...
the demographic of the show entirely different tho, you can clearly tell that Hyakka Ryouran is for the boys, while the fujoshi and the lonesome young females are watching Basara because the show is filled with HOT guys.

I totally think you both should.  The way it portrays history is pretty amusing, plus its only five minutes an episode.

Just finished Eden of the East, but haven't seen the movies yet. This is a really incredible series. I think the final two episodes are the finest I've seen in any anime in quite a while. I especially enjoy the "NEET as revolutionary" motif.

Well, I watched Hyakka Ryouran again and read over my history glossary and this setting should be somewhere around 1570s-1597 or so in Japan, if it wasn't because of the fantasy setting overall, I would have raged quite hard at the 'naming' of the characters, and the fact they appeared in the wrong era, fighting for the wrong persons. (namely Yubei, because this guy appeared sometime before/after that era) . Dear, I wonder how would the official release version look like, according to the info, there is a DVD version and a TV version, both are animated entirely differently.

Last I checked, one was subbed, and the other ran the Chinese subs thru Google. Did that change?

The second movie was more or less properly subbed just a few days ago. It's not perfect but it's not google quality like the other ones.

The final conclusion is rather anticlimactic but at least it ties in with the rest of the story.

just saying...

Episode 9 is... ouch. This applies because my childhood felt a bit like that, with no happy ending in sight.

Oh Amagami SS...it's like an endlessly looping NTR anime for Miya. Poor girl, having to see her Nii-Nii get taken away by another girl over and over again.

Also, the creepy yandere stalker girl Risa gets a special arc but Hibiki and Miya don't? The hell Brain Base?!
