I'd watch it.
In fact, if a second season starred TK, I'd probably watch the first one.

I don't think Key does sequels

Not to mention the story is "complete". What else could happen anyways? TK stars in his own dance show?

Key has a thing for making sequels much better than the original. Tomoyo After was much better than Clannad IMO.

Also, I'd expect the creators to milk this thing as much as possible. So at the very least, an OVA must be in the works.

THAT WOULD BE FUCKING AWESOME
TK's dance sequel

anyway, how do you interpret the story?

Spoiler:
Actually, Otonashi becomes the programmer guy in episode 12. If you remember, the npc in the computer room mentioned that the original programmer lost someone he loved in this world and then he made it so that falling in love and remaining in the world causes grave consequences such as the shadows. If you're wondering how Otonashi could go back in the past like that, if you believe that Ka is like a wheel, then time flows circularly instead of linearly in that world.

and

hmmm... but it seems he passed on as well.

Anyways, I'm quite surprised at how this show turned out. The pacing was bad, the animation was iffy, the plotholes were aplenty, and, as a previous poster said, development was in "all the wrong places."

But I quite enjoyed it. As I see it, the show got better after episode 7, took a dive after the shadows showed up. That cheesy room of "love" monitors... bleh.

I guess I'm a sucker for feelgood endings, then. Especially ones that involve Kanade. The last 5 minutes of episode 13 made up for all the problems in the previous episodes.

So, all in all,

Cons:
-Bad Pacing
-Character Development was off
-Sea of Plotholes
-Loli Paralysis Moe
-Did I mention the pacing was bad?

Pros:
-Kanade
-Catchy OP
-Feelgood Ending
-Quick, decent subbing

Wasn't After story made by KyoAni and not Key though? Or did Key have a hand in it?

Tomoyo After is not After Story, the After Story is in the original Clannad game. Tomoyo After is another After Story, just with another girl in the center.

Just finished AB, and the last episode wasn't really a disappointment. The rest of the series however could have been better. Also, they are going to release an unaired episode on December 22nd.

I felt that AB deserved a better credit, if only for deciphering what the story truly wanted to become rather than dropping it at first hint of its bad pacing. It could have been a 24 episode season just so it could become more relevant or some such.

Ah yes, AB would have been better as a 24 episode series, it's too short, and its story is like 40 sweating man in a small prison cell with only 13 episodes to develop.

I hope someone makes a TK Clipshow and puts it on Youtube...
...and then makes a time machine so I can just watch that instead of wasting time to go through everything else.

While I was out, I read Shitsurakuen (my new guilty pleasure, I have a soft spot for black-white morality and badass redheaded heroines with red hair and a yuri harem) and Iono the Fanatics, which is incredibly cute and hilarious. :3

Announcement from the Time-Space Administration Bureau!

There's been some consideration about making a separate anime/manga subforum, but as of right now we're unsure of whether or not it'd receive enough activity to be justified.

So, to gauge the potential of the new subforum, we're going to encourage creating new anime/manga-related threads from now on (like series threads or specific a/m-related topic threads). This thread will continue to exist as an A/M miscellany and social thread, but don't be too surprised if a line of discussion from here ends up getting split off into its own thread if it grows large enough.

I know I never watch anime, but today I have made an exception, to watch The Twelve Kingdoms. A few episodes in, but it's still too early to tell if it's going to be half as good as the excellent novels.

Went and watched Seitokai no Ichizon.  I chose to watch it entirely based on the fact that one of its main characters is named Kurimu.  I'm glad I got another entertaining slice of life from such a stupidly illogical decision.

I was thinking of picking those up recently but the first volume is selling for $70+ on Amazon. ???

I watched Princess Mononoke earlier tonight. I went into it kind of skeptical since I'd never seen a Miyazaki movie before, but it turned out to be pretty fucking incredible. I can see why the guy gets heaped with so much praise.

It's probably because it's relatively rare or obscure.
The novels are amazing.  I've read the four that have been released here.

The anime is not bad, it starts a bit slow, but once it gets going it's pretty good.  There are two new characters in the anime one of them is Sugimoto from the first novel, they were created to externalize some of Yoko's internal conflicts because it would be boring to watch someone sit and think as much as Yoko does.  The plot is pretty accurate considering the new characters, but it puts quite a bit more emphasis on Yoko.

Ghibli films tend to be like that. I'd recommend Grave of the Fireflies or Spirited Away, though Mononoke remains my all-time favorite.

Aye, the novels are holyshitAWESOME, especially when it comes to Yoko in volume one. I liked that one so much that I picked up the second and third volumes with some trepidation, since I was worried they wouldn't be as good as the first. MAN was I wrong. Taiki was a great main character in his own right, and the philosophy/politics going on around Enki in the third volume had me at the edge of my seat. I have not actually read the fourth yet; I have placed a hold on it at the library, though, and I should get it shortly.

And yes, I noticed that Sugimoto tended to voice some of Yoko's struggles that were internal in the novels, 'cause otherwise there would have been a LOT of voice-overs. I am not particularly fond of the two new characters, since I think a good amount of Yoko's anguish in the first half of the first volume arises precisely because she has no humans around she can trust-- but I can accept them as a necessary evil.

On the other hand, hearing Yoko's voice reminds me of Sailor Mercury, for obvious reasons. :V And then hearing her bitter words towards Rakushun makes me shiver. <3 Aya Hisakawa.

The fourth one is really good.  It shows more of the Yoko from the end of the first book, when she's finally all mature and capable, it also shows more of some of the other kingdoms and Kei, of course.  The series is definitely one of my favorites.  I really like the way the author kind of forces you into the world with Yoko and like her you have no idea what's going on and then you learn more of the history and culture of the place in the other books.

Yeah, Sugimoto is a right jerk, she's pretty nasty, though a lot of it isn't exactly her fault.  I love Rakushun though, he's awesome.
