The only Mahjong I play is the solo version where you remove pairs of tiles from the puzzle. I have little clue on how to play the poker-style(?) one.

on PPIRC there's #mahjong but the only people who are there are me, occasionally Lev  and yurin

Tenhou is bloody addictive, I haven't played as many games as you have, but I have played in Japanese mahjong parlors and I generally tend to play more often in real life than I do online
