That's probably because they are. :V ZUN likes to recycle a bunch of things, which ends up saving a lot of time for him I guess.

I didn't realize that, when facing Mokou's spellcards, the dizzying blue background is a backdrop to her portrait on the right (if you can see past the danmaku).

Not so creepy, but I dropped a brick when I saw that on the left was a close-up of her face down to her shoulders.

It's on purpose, and shouldn't be too hard to see. The extra bosses have a tendency to show themselves in their background in some way. Kind of like an Easter egg from ZUN. :3

Actually Youmu's using her 5card counter. Sanae uses Gray Thaumaturgy but that's also on Soku, so. :V

Just take the opportunity to stare at the entire screen (in a replay of course) during Mountain of Faith/Divine Virtue of Wind God--Looks like you really are in a rave, with Kanako's colored "spotlights" dancing all over the screen. Quite fitting, given how much moving you have to do during that spell. xD

I can't believe you hadn't noticed before. I honestly think that Kanako is 10x more disco than silly Iku. I mean seriously, just look at those rave colors.

In EoSD, every second boss (Cirno, Patchy, Remilia) has a midboss that isn't them, excluding the extra stage.

Actually yes. Extra is considered stage 7 to the game. I've peeked at the .dat's before for EoSD and it does register to it as 7. Not sure about phantasm in PCB though, but it probably is 8. (unless it's 7b or something along those lines)

When looking at th07's graphics, it labels Phantasm as Stage 8, so right.
