Also, the signs on Mystic Square's Stage 3 read "Romantic" and "Children!". One is at the beginning of the stage, another at the mid-boss fight.

Am I the only the that the couple "Renko and Maribel" has something to do with the couple "Reimu and Marisa"? I mean, both begin with "Re" and "Ma"... Thus, both "Maribel" and "Marisa" are ocidental names, while "Renko" and "Reimu" are oriental names, which has something to do with Reimu and Marisa symbolozing the East ( Touhou ) and the West ( Seihou ), respectively.

 It sure looks stupid, but sometimes I wonder if ZUN planted false ( but very convincent ) clues to mislead us, making us that the couple "Renko and Maribel" has something to do with Yukari... Nah, ZUN is just a drunkard, no way he could do such thing. xD



There's something else I suspect... I mean, I think that each Touhou game symbolizes something. I have a theory that EoSD, PCB, IN and PoFV group symbolize the Four Seasons. EoSD symbolizes Summer, because the Scarlet Mist incident happens in summer ( as said in Reimu's Bad Ending ), and the color Scarlet is similar to Red, that is often associated with Heat, which is associated with Summer. PCB symbolizes Winter, because it, see from a certain point of view, happens in the Winter ( it actually happens when it should be Spring, but Yuyuko and Yukari stolen it so the Winter took more time ), and it has two Ice-related bosses ( Cirno and Letty ). IN symbolizes Fall, which is relatively cold-weathered, while nights are usually a bit colder than the day... And, if you notice, the character's coloring palettes in IN mostly use slightly cold colors, to make it look like it's really at night... Just link the conceptions of "slightly cold colors" with Fall's "slightly cold weather". As for PoFV, it obviously Spring, because of the flower-blooming spree that happens into it, and Lily White appeareing, which shows that it's Spring in PoFV's events.

And there's more. The group formed by MoF, SA and UFO are likely to represent three of the Four Elements. MoF symbolizes the Earth, because it happens in a mountain, which is, somehow, a big amount of earth above the horizon. SA symbolizes Fire, because, despite it initially being associated with Earth, we start to deal with Fire on Stage 5 and 6, seeing that Fire is the main game's subject, because Utsuho wants to use Nuclear Power ( which produces godly amounts of Heat(Fire)) to blow Gensokyo up. UFO symbolizes Air, because it's events happen in sky's heights. If that rumor about Touhou 13 happening underwater was true, it would close up the Four Elements group, with the Water Element.

And more... I discared IaMP, SWR and UNL because they didn't fit into the symbologic sequence where they appear. It may be so because they weren't made by ZUN, assuming that he planned the symbologic sequence unaware about Tasogare Frontier wanting to make the Fighting games.

Or... Maybe IaMP, SWR and UNL are meant to actually symbolize something together. Making a very forced interpretation, IaMP was made during the Four Seasons Era ( between the Winter and the Fall, but why? ), while SWR was made during the Four Elements Era ( between the Earth and the Fire, but why? )... But this interpretation doesn't work because UNL was also made in Four Elements Era ( between Air and Water, if Touhou 13 really happened underwater ).

I have a theory that the Four Elements Era is composed just by MoF ( because it happens in a mountain(Earth), and the heroine gets up to the highs of Youkai Mountain(Air)) and SA ( because it happens mainly in the Hell(Fire), and Orin's geyser became a hot spring(Water)), while UFO is the first representative of another Era, which symbology is unknown because there's no Danmaku game after it, until now.

So, each Fighting game symbolizes an Era of Touhou series. If you link the concepts of Four Seasons, Four Elements and the unknown symbol of UFO's Era, what concept will we get?

Whatever UFO's Era symbolizes, it's likely that merging the concepts of Four Seasons and Four Elements we get a yet-to-name concept that is 99% related to Ocultism and/or Paganism, things that are related to Magic, which permeates the whole Touhou series.


But there's a bloody contradiction in my theory: SWR was made in Four Elements Era, but this game is all about Weather, which is related to Four Seasons. Meanwhile, I can't link anything about IaMP with the concepts of Four Seasons or Four Elements. Thus, I can't link anything about UNL to anything about UFO, despite both mention things indirectly relatedt of the Outside World's Science ( Flying Saucers and Giant Mechas )... Well, both Flying Saucers and Giant Mechas that only exist in fiction, so there's actually a slight link.

Yamame's nonspells' bullets are actually 5x5 pixels balls that turn into the big ones.

In EoSD, you can kill fairies by slamming them with your character (Although you die in the process, you can do it  during the invincibility period after dying too)

You can actually shape Night Bird's hp (Only to less than the original value) by damaging Rumia until the desired ammount and timing her nonspell out (Easy mode only)

You can make any boss in EoSD explode (as in the end of a battle) if you time out their final attack and just as the counter strikes zero, you bomb.

This may be REALLY old and obvious, but apparently Fairies (at least in UFO) will die if they slam into your options.

Also, Unzan's fists are all hitbox. No room to squeeze past. (Not crazy, not totally not obvious, but it took me awhile to realize it.) This makes me sad.

Actually, someone here on MoTK proved that in the last spell card, you can squeeze in beteen the fists.

You don't need to start at the center. Not sure if it works with characters other than Reimu though, and the fists never actually overlap, so the hitbox is probably still the whole thing.
