It is something you do with reflexes.

I guess sometimes, yeah?  But I meant more that you don't get hit, hear the death sound, and then instantly press the bomb button to save yourself.  It happens if you go "oh shit" and press the button right when you realize you're about to get fucked, but you don't go "I'm going to hit a bullet, and then bomb, so I deathbomb instead of using a bomb normally."

Or EoSD.  But you better be damn sure before you do it.
Whether you're on Easy or you're a Lunatic, be damn proud of your accomplishments.  Don't let anyone convince you otherwise, for it's when you lose faith in your own achievements that those victories become defeats.

This happened at least once in every game:

I like centering my Touhou at the bottom of the screen whenever possible. I dodge SINGLE BULLETS from weak Stage 1 or 2 Easy enemies, only to BACK INTO THE BULLET I JUST DODGED in order to get back to the bottom of the screen. Wat

I hardly even think that is physically possible even if you have those split-second reflexes.

I realized today that it's been a while since I played MoF, so I decided to take a crack at it even though I was a little drowsy.

*runs into a bullet right after Shizuha*
"Ah, okay, honest mistake, no big deal.  I'll just try to keep my faith points up so I can get an extra li?"
*dies to first bullets of Minoriko's Autumn Sky*
"Urgh, I just sat there and watched that one hit me, didn't I."
*game over's to first wave of Owotoshi Harvester*
"what just happened why didn't I move out of the way."

PoFV. I got shoved into the bottom left corner by mass bullets, looked around for a route of escape, found one, and prepared to dash when a chain of fairy spawned behind me and hit me. Incredibly annoying at the moment, but incredibly funny in hindsight.

Worst run of Mokou ever.
Deathbombed 2/3 of Ex-Keine's cards, and body slammed a fairy right after capturing the third card.
Deathbombed again for whatever reason.
Died to Mokou's first NON-SPELL, then her first spell, then her third non-spell,
then proceed to deathbomb TWICE on Flaw of Forgiving Shrine,
Deathbombed three times to Fujiyama Volcano, and twice to Hourai Doll. Ended up 0/0

Is there anything wrong with me than I`m enjoying EoSD more than SA  :V? I just got to Flandre`s survival, even though I only play with her from time to time, yet my attempts at 1cc Normal SA always end near the beginning of S5. I swear, when ZUN was making SA and UFO, he forgot that most players don`t go for 1cc Lunatic after they start playing. I can`t imagine giving either of these to my friends who just start to play - IN usually works best at hooking people and not scaring the crap outta them with danmaku. MoF could do as well.

Speaking of UFO...this is likely a stupid question, but is there a reason to use Marisa A instead of Reimu A? According to the analysis chart Reimu A has higher attack power AND a Master Spark clone that is stronger than the original and doesn`t slow her down as much so bombing for ufos is more of an option as well. Being Reimu, she has also the smallest hitbox, longest deathbomb window and most precise movement. Is there something I`m missing?

Just finished an IN run with Border Team at 1/0.

Deathbombed twice on stage 2
Deathbombed Three Treasures
Did not capture Marisa's second midboss card
Got Tewi kicked
Only Reisen card I captured was Illusion Seeker
I didn't even capture any of Kaguya's spells

I went too close to Rika during before her dialogue appeared, hoping to do some damage before the battle starts. The second it started, I died before being able to get away from her. Second time  :V . It was quite priceless:
-..So, just be a good girl and blow up, thank you.

Actually, I think PC-98 games, despite being awesome, have some annoying shit like this to piss me off when I`m enjoying them. I wonder if someone could read and sidestep Mima`s dash or Yuka`s Master Spark the first time he/she saw it - they`re basically non-telegraphed. And MS has damn S4, which fucks with my eyes...

Durr. My capture rating against Orin's final spellcard is pretty pathetic. Only fifty-fifty. I make way to many embarassing mistakes here. Running into those miniature star bullet-thingys and sometimes even epicly crashing into a fairy. Nice one. I'm pretty consistent at the rest of Orin Lunatic and i've gotten so good at most her attacks that she doesn't pose too much of a threat against me anymore.

Its just those stupid mess-ups at her final spell that keeps me from perfection consistency.

Oh and uhmm... i died to her 3rd non-spell too. Pretty weak that. I should know by now not to dance around like an idiot and be more careful around it.

I for sure died to those two. And MS-S4 is quite annoying. White bullets on ultra bright background isn't really a good idea. The boss in the level is awesome though.

There is nothing awesome about SoEW however. That's just a fail game.

I have a replay from a few months back in MoF I named "s3FAIL". I played through stage 1-3 on normal in that replay. So I wrote down some notes on what I did.

- Played overall like a newbie, like almost never used PoC and didn't stream properly.
- On Plenty Sign "Owotoshi Harvester", I stand in a perfectly safe place between two lasers. I decide to fly right into the right one.
- Stage 2 went rather well, but did bomb a little too much.
- On stage 3, I'm just dodging normally until I decide to go back to the bottom, breaking the dodging pattern and fly right into a bullet.
- And here is the best thing. I decided to use the PoC. But when I do, Nitori charges right into me. Dead.
- I'll guess I was rather irritated of what just happened, so I quickly lost my last life when Optics "Optical Camouflage" comes up. First line of bullets get me.

Oh well, it was rather fun to watch. :V

It`s that bad? Well, the lack of focus might feel wrong and I heard that extra boss is full of shit, but otherwise, I find the game okay. And it has Mima-sama as final boss. Just the stage parts feel a bit too long for me. And I think the bombs have some kind of lag - I`m sure I pressed the button before getting hit  few times and still died. On my last normal run I defeated Mima at 0/1...on my last continue. When Mima said "Weak doesn't even describe it...If we go on like this, you'll end up dead for sure...", it felt like a bitchslap  :colonveeplusalpha:.
