After a three-week break, came back intending to perfect Kanako on Normal. Everything went perfectly up till Misayama, but that's no big deal. Captured Heaven's Stream for the first time, which was nice. Failed Mountain Of Faith. Yeah. After capping it six times in a row.

A bunch of stupid deaths on my Orin attempt, but the one on Spleen Eater deserves some attention. Ran into the last bullet in a trail. My record on it is now 4/13 ORZ. Did beat her final non-spell, but that wasn't too hard.

Guess it goes to show how you shouldn't play Genetos to get back into shape. Great game, but pathetically easy for a danmaku, even on Creator mode.

Calling it a game would be unfair, it's more of a playable evolution of the shmup genre.

You start off with Space Invaders and as the game goes on, more stuff gets added and you end up in a bullet hell shmup with tons of power ups and stuff.

I died 4 times to SA Stage 3. On Normal. Yes, i did. I don't know how those bullets found my hitbox but they found it.

she, like sakuya, makes it impossible for me to get to the final stage. good thing I have replays of other people, and dialouge on the wiki. speaking of that, I love how everything is explained in the extras.

No, it's a great game in the sense that Rez is a game, but it's not hard at all. Even on creator, you start with 6 default lives, and it's easy to get shields that make you effectively invulnerable. Still failed a good number of 1cc's, though. Final boss is fun, but really really long and not that many patterns.

Getting hit by Frost Walrus is an embarassment on its own. Frost Walrus, Chill Penguin, Blizzard Wolfang, Blizzard Buffalo. Ice bosses tend to be trivial. Cirno and Letty can testify to that as well.

In the point .01 seconds it takes me for left hand to leap up to ESC key and pause, I somehow manage to hit the wrong key and fly straight into a wall before the game stops.:

Oh man, what the hell. I try an IN Lunatic run. Died twice on stage 2, what the hell. Died another two times on stage 3. Alright, I've got two lives left; instead of quitting, let's see where this goes. I then completely fail to die on stage 4 (wtf), do stage 5 without dying or bombing (and even capture that Last Spell), and then die just once on Kaguya (capturing hard stuff like Brilliant Dragon Bullet (I actually think this one's easy) and Life Spring Infinity, while failing the easy stuff like Salamander Shield).

I was *so* close to 3 billion. What the hell.

I can't tell if this belongs in this thread or the bitching/whining one.

Kind of a shame I didn't keep the replay, though, because somewhere in all that mess, I also had a perfect deathbomb.

I was playing UFO, on Normal, and was on Nazrin's first spell.  Just as I was telling myself to concentrate, I moved to the right to dodge a bullet, and apparently decided it would just be neat to sit there for a full three seconds and make no movements as I watched a different bullet come at me.

I defeated Yukari for the first time last night.  Ironically, during that very same run, I lost a life to Ran during the midboss battle for the first time in quite a while.  Now I can't bear to watch the replay of my first successful Phantasm run without flinching at that stupid death  :blush:

So I finally decided to start playing the games on Lunatic seriously. After few hours of practice I thought I could do EoSD. I did ok, got to the final stage but guess what ended my run? The easiest goddamn attack in the whole game where Remilia shoots those knife spirals!

I captured it, but I died on Perfect Freeze. Not because of it out-doing me, but because I purposefully did the biggest mistake you can do on the card because it was only normal mode.

I'd bet on getting hit in the face by the streams after the bullets freeze, since these are aimed at you instead of around you on lower difficulties.

It was getting hit by the streams. The only thing you need to remember is to not move unless necessary once those bullets come out, regardless of difficulty. Once again, it was quite enlightening.

Also I like nearly died on places like Daiyousei because I was not used to bullets traveling so slowly. :V It's a weird effect.
