>You decide to say to hell with it, and let someone else hear the story.
>The woman listens attentively, having a seat on the shrine's porch. As you describe your problem, her face falls into an ever-deepening frown. Finally, she says, "I think you may be a little bit stressed. I would recommend taking some time off work, and spending it with your friends and family. Go have some fun, and maybe do something to help out your community, and see if it stops bothering you. If not, I fear you may need a doctor."

Edit: Let's hold off asking for the so-called military visit til the last b/c I can see that line of questioning getting real sour fast.

>"Oh, we have a dinner every two weeks," she says, beaming "We encourage everyone we can to come, and to bring a little something with them for others to try. It's a great place to meet people, mix with foreigners in a friendly place, and sample all sorts of interesting food. At the risk of being a little boastful, quite a few friendships have arising from meetings there! It's a tradition we're very proud of, stemming from the days when the War had just come to an end and the people had not quite gotten to trust one another yet."

>You....really aren't up to date on Talisman matters (Talismatters?), and admit to such. "I think I may have one in mind, then," says the woman. "It'll take me a little while to make, so allow me a moment to get the proper things.
>She excuses herself and disappears into the shrine. A moment later, she returns with a small writing desk, the sort you're supposed to kneel in front of, and a blank charm. Using brush and a pot of ink, she begins to write upon the charm.
>"Any rumor at all? Hmmm, well... I do hear there has been a problem with a motorcycle gang in the industrial park, but it would be best for you to avoid that. Oh, and I hear there has been a gang of toughs in the Skids. Something else you may wish to avoid. But that doesn't give you much to look into. Hmmm...did you know there is a new art exhibit at the museum?"

>"Don't worry about that. If this can help in some small way, then I am grateful to be able to do it." She shakes her head. "I wish I could do something else for you, but to disconnect from the world like that isn't...normal. I fear the problem might not be spiritual so much as psychological. I really do hope you get better soon."

>She nods, then puts the brush aside. She picks up the talisman and lightly blows on it. "There, all finished." She offers you the Talisman. It reads "Peace of Mind"; the kanji painted with great precision. "Wear this, and the wrongness that troubles you ought to soon fade away."

>"Well, it's not as though she wears her shrine clothes to work," says the lady with a chuckle. "And, she's not allowed to talk about what she flies. But, I imagine it is whatever they are developing. But she enjoys it greatly. "
>"I can tell you a little bit about them," she says. "There is the new one on the outskirts. It's run by a very nice Buddhist woman. She relies on corporate backing, so I sometimes wonder about her devotion. But we've only met in passing, and I really shouldn't judge. Then there is the one in the forest, and I cannot tell you a lot about it. It was built to please the gods when the Japanese first claimed this island, I believe. It was made intentionally remote, so that the gods of the island wouldn't interfere with the war effort and such. Afterward, this shrine was brought over to serve as a proper place for them."

>"Please come any time," she says with a smile, "And have a good day."
>You decide to hit up the museum, heading north to the bus stop, then going west.
>The streets here are a little less busy. To the south side, you can see the imposing bulk of the Museum and City Hall, as well as the Governor's residence. It is designed like a western style mansion, though it lacks the expansive yard and gates that you would expect from such a place. It extends into two vast wings; the eastern wing discretely marked as the seat of government and the western wing marked as the museum. A clock tower extends from the central part of the mansion, showing the time to be 10:55.  Opposite of the manor, looking entirely dwarfed and insignificant, is the police station. Obvious exits are North, South1, South 2, East and West

>Go into the museum and pick up the brochure. Find information about "new" exhibit.

>You head into the museum, and enter a spacious lobby. The floors are made of marble, or something designed to look like it. A couple of statues, classic western style in some Greek garb, stand at opposite ends of the lobby. You can see two halls leading into the the museum, as well as a couple cases leading into the basement and the second floor. There is an information desk at the back of the lobby. Obvious exits are West, East, South 1, South 2, South 3, South 4, and North.
>You pick up a brochure. It proudly advertises a recently obtained series of Jomon Period artifacts in the southeast basement.
