Esifex joins the game (but not the team) after the tournament is completed, and enters the next stage afterwards as an 'Other' team character. Any mages at this point or the Lord characters can recruit her; if you don't recruit her by the end of the stage, Shaman loooooooost.

If a mage talks to Esifex, she simply invites herself into the team.

Esifex: I was watching you in the tournament. You fight with magic.
Magician: Huh? Uh, yeah. I do. Why?
Esifex: I'd like to join you, so I may study you. *exit stage right*
Magician: ...study? Huh.

The Lord characters...

Esifex: You led the team in the tournament, didn't you?
Lord: I don't know if 'lead' is the right term...
Esifex: Tactics and power are crucial for success. I'd like to join you, if you'll allow me.
Lord: More tag-alongs... Sure. Just follow my commands when we're in combat.
Esifex: Of course. ...*gibberish gibberish gibberish exit stage right*
Lord: ...what a strange young lady.

Or something. :B

Tweaked my stats some more towards being a twinky assassin. Still assuming no move changes for now.

E-mouse shows up when the tournament falls apart and things start getting serious/political: He appears as a neutral unit on the next map and (if possible) sneaks through an unguarded segment of the map to loot items and documents as evidence of what's going on. He can be recruited by having Ruro talk to him. (And/or one of the others from Ruro's hometown talk with him; not sure if this is easily coded?) Resulting dialog:

E-mouse: "Who are you?"
Ruro: "Mousey? Is that you?"
E-mouse: "... what? How'd you know my name?"
Ruro: "It's me, Ruro! We were spreading JUSTICE!! at the tournament, but then this happened, and we're trying to figure it out..."
E-mouse: "... I'd like to trust you, but I'm not sure you're actually--"
Ruro: "Oh, stop being paranoid, Mouse. I liked it better when you were drunk in the fields that one time and asked to squeeze my b--"
E-mouse: "OKAY, okay, I'll trust you. I think I'll tag along."
Ruro: "Great!"
Tweak dialog contents as needed if others can recruit, but I'd like to keep the joke

---

Late-game, I'd also like it if he/I could also be a prerequisite for getting one or two of the Assassin advancement items, after a boss fight with a major leader of (one of the warring nations), where they make it very clear they aren't going to listen to reason. (Optional extra prerequisites to reflect this: Have E-mouse 1. be involved in the battle and possibly 2. Have to talk to the boss at least once or twice [and fail at diplomatic resolution] to be fully certain.) After that battle, if the necessary prerequisites are met, E-mouse says "... now I'm mad." and says he needs to get something from town. He later returns with one or two Assassin promotion items, saying that he'd stashed them away in town in case he had to start being ruthless, and that the fight convinced him that there's nothing left to hold back. But he's more willing to trust the Lords with deciding on how to use them than himself.

Sparkleh and I updated our profiles. Not sure about how the conversation would go, but we kinda thought out how we want to be recruited if we can both get in as playable.

Village is under attack, by going into the village you find Gofure, who is healing the town people, who agrees to help you. He says something about hoping his friend Sparkleh, who is outside fighting the enemy,  is alright. Sparkleh is an "other" unit, and you can get her to join you by having Gofure talk to her.

Ahh young love~

Also I am considering Melee weapons that deal outright Magic Damage (Not like the Magic Swords)

Might be Gimmicky but early FE games have them.

Do you mean Melee weapons that hit RES?

Or do you mean Melee weapons that are for mages? I forget which one the earlier FE games had...

FE4 had magic swords - the status swords and Earth/Flame/Thunder/Wind/Light Swords which cast magic from range...
Also, note that the earlier FE games had Mag and Str as separate stats. In the GBA FEs, STR and MAG were the same stat depending on what class you were.

Valentia's convinced me to get in on this.  Storywise, I'd like to be a citizen of the other duped nation that's being manipulated to go to war with the heroes' nation.  I'd like to show up as an enemy late in the tournament, and then perhaps another time or two in the midgame while the war's going on, and to join as a playable once the third big bad country is exposed in its evil ways.

Gameplay-wise, I'm favoring being a mage and somewhat of a glass cannon.  Not at all familiar with Fire Emblem, so I'll hold off on posting my stats to the spreadsheet 'till we can discuss it on IRC.

Hey guys.

I think we need more armors. Even just one or two more.

We are currently oversaturated with mages, glass cannons and other similarly classed units.

We need to balance this out.

Also, we are probably going to axe you if you're a Wyvern Rider not named Rabbit or Violentia Valentia.

Altered the thread title. You have to post a sign up AND write an entry in the character spreadsheet to be confirmed in. So hurry! :<

Welp,  now I've been co-opted as Sakana's onii-chan I'd better get around to this. :V

Roukanken (Rou for short) is a newly promoted knight from a little-known military academy known as the Library. Along with his sister, Sakana, he comes across team Ruro with the intent of proving his skills while keeping Sakana safe from harm.

Rou is very protective of his imouto, who he calls Sakanee-chan when no-one is around. Anything that he perceives as an attempt to pick on her with incite his wrath, but beneath that he is strong and trustworthy when necessary.

I'll settle for Beserker, because ANGER. Slowpoke and Dusty may appear with me...I dunno, it'd be awkward with out them, but we'll see. Background info will come later once I get my shit together.

Though note, I think we're leaning too heavy on lances, do you mean we need actual knights or just high defense people? Because I do have tank stats.

Fightest

  • Fighter than anyone else
he is strong and trustworthy when necessary.

This makes me think. Are there any characters in our bunch who aren't strong and reliable despite their possible flaws? I mean, sure, that's the making of a heroic character, but I think it'd be interesting if there were a character who, underneath their seeming to be a dick, is still actually a dick. They fight against the Big Bad because the Big Bad's dickery is overshadowing their own, or somesuch.

I can already think of several very good arguments against me, but I'd be interested on you guys' comments.

You know, if I wasn't in Okashii's motivation, I'd totally sign up as a Troubadour. :V

Well, I did have a little concept of you reviving as a mindless shell of your former self after Okashii kicks the bucket. :V Because the Morph Monster goes boom after it kills Okashii the blast breaks all the artifacts and other containers of magic and life force, which overtime get absorbed into the corpse of Thundr-tan. This revives her body, but not her soul, making her a cold, ageless, mindless killing-machine that goes around stealing more life force to sustain her existence. The players are attacked by her and several of the remaining cultists near the end of the game, who believe the revived Thundr-tan is some kind of Messiah. She would look and act like Limstella from FE7.

So you could reappear as a Valkyrie boss. :derp:

Fightest makes a good point. Maybe it'd actually work better if in battle Rou was still overly clingy to Sakanee-chan, and most of his competence comes from being convinced the enemy is trying to pick on her?

I really should have made a point of noting that part about FE!E-mouse being an underhanded, sneaky coward. Not entirely proud of it, but he is.

And would one of those arguments be "but that difference in underlying motivation is a primary reason for the playables distinction?"

It's an important point to consider, guys, but don't feel too pressured to change up your characters solely due to this point. Making such flaws more noteworthy might not be a bad idea, but it doesn't have to be a big shift.
