MotK Emblem (FE hack) - HELP NEEDED INQUIRE WITHIN

    Ha ha, old chap! irc The IRC channel is at #EasyFE on irc.dejatoons.net for easy access from #touhou-meido, though if there are issues I can move to PPIRC for use w/ webchat

    Well first thing's first, we have to decide who's going to get involved in what - we need writers, character/boss info stuff, perhaps spriters and map makers. We'll also need hackers. I saw a lot of interest in this in the IRC channel, though it was mostly people calling dibs on certain classes. Well, it'd be a pretty good idea to start with plots and shit, I'll edit this opening post with pertinent information.

    If you plan to be in this (I'll probably make a shitty self-insert too) please say so. Also try and calculate your own stats, there should be some utilities on the 'net if you Google enough.

    The main concern is PLOTS and MAPS and SPRITES though. We can work out the mechanics later.

    A land where people of all races and cultures live in peace. For years, Emotke has been this land, existing relatively peacefully.
    To the west lies Tearc, the largest and most populated country of Emotke.
    To the east lies Arpege, a land known throughout the continent for its games.
    Finally, to the north lies Cipriam Ci, the youngest country of the three.
    Hundreds of years ago, all of Emotke was ruled by Tearc. Tearc ruled with an iron fist, until a band of rebels decided to fight back.
    A war broke out, and through the valiant efforts of the rebels, Tearc was reduced to a fraction of its former size.
    These rebels would soon become the founders of Arpege, and so the war was named the Arpegean War.
    In recent times, some citizens still hold a grudge against Tearc, and vice versa. However, these feelings have never surfaced, and life goes on.
    About fifty years ago, Cipriam Ci was created. It is small, but has growing steadily since its creation.
    While peace has reigned in Emotke for centuries, that peace is starting to enravel, and relations are strained between Tearc and Arpege.
    Answering the call of their citizens, the leaders of Tearc and Arpege meet to address the situation...

    I'm calling a mage/shaman/mercenary. If I'm a random boss, the promoted versions of these dudes.

    Throw me a stat calculator and I'll try to do the math. I might throw a few maps out once everything's straightened out if I'm particularly good at FE mapping.

    I want to be the same as in Ijiyatsu, I want to be a generic enemy in Chapter 1 with no dialogue.

    FE7 or FE8 as the base?

    This is a very important question as it affects mechanics amongst other things.

    I expressed desire for FE8 due to flexibility but FE7 has the pro of actually being English-editable.

    Nah, whichever works.  I guess with no knowledge of the actual hacking I'll vote FE7 out of preference.  Also, this project is AWESOME.  And I call in as a mage.

    I can likely do more for mechanics/stat calculations/mapmaking etc. than I can for sprites or hacking, but I'd love to get in on this!

    Since the general majority either seem to know more about FE7 or prefer it more, we might as well just use that.

    It would make certain processes run by faster and there would be more motivation for it. So pertinent tools must be for FE7, use the FE7 Nightmare Modules etc.

    If this is FE7 then I'd like to be a prepromote Sniper. Or a Monk -> Bishop if Snipers are too useless. I dunno.

    As of now, we have agreed on FE7 due to convenience. This means we won't have manaketes unless we figure out a way to hack them in somehow.

    As an aside for those who are going to do stat calculations on their own:

    Playable Pre-Promotes should divvy up 300% worth of stat growth
    Example:
    <insert my self-insert here> - Troubadour - 70/40/40/70/35/5/40 = 300


    Playable Non-Promotes have up to 280% worth of stat growth
    Example:
    <insert my self-insert here> - Valkyrie - 60/35/35/60/40/10/40 = 280


    Bosses... we'll deal with you somehow :3c
