I was really shocked with the Lyrica from Saturday.  The keyboard worked, had that heavy stand for the float.

First cosplay as a Touhou character and I got among a really motley bunch.  I'm honored to have been among all who've also took part.

yep just got back from the Con a few hours ago and I'm in the process of unpacking and sorting everything. lots of people commenting about my lack of head accessory for Okuu so thats the one thing I regret not finishing for the con(you know getting a bow to be that big is hard for a beginner), number 2 is the skirt...number 3 were filling the shoulder seams in my model....other than that I had a blast.

So what were you guys all doing during the evacuation?

I ended up on the skywalk and was rushed into the BoA building by the staff.  Once everyone headed for the door, I stood over the charles street entrance hanging over the balcony waiting for them to let everyone else in.  I basically hung out overhead.

My wig and hat were not meant for summer outdoors since it retains my body heat.

We walked around a little bit, then went to our hotel room and chilled out awhile.  Some people claimed someone pulled the alarm, or there was a bomb threat, but we heard later on it was a kitchen fire.  So the con reopened maybe an hour or so later.

@Momiji: Otakon's website says it was a pulled fire alarm or something. But yeah, it was about an hour delay.

One of the people in our group had just run off to a lolita swap meet on the skywalk and ended up being stuck there for a while, her sister had run off to the bathroom, and another person was getting her cosplay judged- the timing was amazingly inconvenient.

I had a room in the hilton so I just made my way there chilled and we pooled our cash together to purchase Kick-ass on the video on demand thing they have.

yeah according to the official Otakon Twitter the fire alarm was false and someone pulled it. Word on the street was that 4chan had someone special planned for Otakon. Not pointing fingers or anything but when I heard that I thought it'd be a troll panel or something but if it's this that's just childish.

Yeah, if it really was 4chan, I'm actually kind of disappointed. Not like I would have wanted them to screw with, say, the pre-reg system or something, but this just feels like a cheap shot.

...Like when ACen's computers got hacked one year and the at-con reg line was ten hours long?

It's nice to see that everyone had a good time~ Hopefully, things will work out for me next year on the financial front and I won't disappoint a few of you guys like I did this year.

Also, I think I recognize one of the Aya cosplayers from MJP's album (I think it was #48/51, with Hatate, Momi, and Mei), but that was too long ago for me to be 100% sure.

It probably wasn't as much "4chan" as much as "some random dumb-asshat who may or may not post on 4chan."  Big difference.

MJP, Vic, my friend (the Aya in the NO PHOTOGRAPHERS :( pic) and myself were just coming back from lunch "oh my there's sure an awful lot of people all deciding to eat lunch we sure had great timing and- oh.  Let's go get ice cream!!"

And thus it was an unprecedented dairy affair.

I drove nearly 800 miles this weekend.  Like, 799.8 miles.

I'm a little tired, and I'll write more later, but this was pretty sweet.  Especially the concert today, I know more lyrics of their's than I should.

I flew over 7000 miles this weekend.  And even braved the not so terrifying Fort Worth Airport (Good god that place is ginormous).  Gimmeh a cookie!

Momiji gets confused for Inuyasha, Mario hopping straight into a trash can of dooky water, girly pillow fights in the hotel room, meeting that crazy and hilarious bastard Suzuran, pointing out the cast of Boxer Hockey's Stupid Super Sonic Special, coming across those bros smashed out of their minds (WRENCH BOY, SANTA CLAUS, GIRL SCOUT, ROBIN HOOD), Getting asked why I was carrying a giant cross when pack muling it for Mima, being packed in a line with dozens of other sweaty dudes in line for AMV Hell 5, all you can eat seafood at Phillips, Beer and pizza with MJP and Triangles (YOU TWO ARE AWESOME), Mima's staff spilling Sangria onto Momiji (Stay fruity honey), and probably some other crazy shit that I'm too tired to remember.

Will do again.

P.S. I need help finding that Marisa Dakimakura in the dealers room to bring for next year.

P.P.S.  I was unable to find any Signums anywhere Ruro, I did find a Sakura and Sumire cosplaying together, but no camera, sorry.  :ohdear:

Yuugi's booze money fund got more donations than all of the Reimus combined 8)

My apologies to anyone that felt like I skirted them (no pun intended) this weekend, but I was harried pretty much the entire time. I tried to make time for everyone and ended up feeling like I disappointed a lot of people by not being there for them for very long.

I had a fun time there, though it kinda felt like I spent as much time in the con as out of it. So much unexpected stuff was going on that I had to account for (malfunctioning camera, missing stuff I SWORE I packed. @_@;). I had a real blast for my first Otacon even with all that happening. When I get home, I'm going to try and pick my sis's brain for cosplay tips, my coin block went un-abused this time. >:

It's my understanding that there's actually no difference at all between those two, as /b/ is comprised of random dumb-asshats. Unless there's some secret 4chan cabal that dreams up such imaginative and sinister pranks as "pull the fire alarm".

Jersey sucks balls.

Yeaaaaah we heard the traffic report and got the crap off the turnpike and were only set back maybe, maybe 45min-1hr tops from ideal driving conditions.

For future reference if those silly WARNING WILL ROBINSON alerts on the turnpike are on here's how you bypass it:
-Take Exit 5 to 295 North
- Follow that to Rt 1 North

Staying on that, the next time you'll see signs for the turnpike would be exit 9 which will be past the entire merge mess and Six Flags traffic.

I mean if you were from Jersey you'd know how to do this sooooo  :V :V :V

I was getting at I don't see why people would automatically associate a lone-wolf asshat with "oh this is 4chan's doing" unless 4chan's like the Borg or something I don't know I very rarely go on any of those boards unless I'm looking for something I can't get elsewhere faster.

From what I understand, 4chan's "big plan" was also a troll, and wound up being a few people standing around and taking pictures before leaving.

I find it a lot of fun to compare the Otakon discussion here with the Otakon discussion on Poosh.

Poosh: "PURGE THE UNBELIEVERS! REAL TOUHOU FANS ONLY!"
