Greyhound has advanced purchase round-trip fares for $112 (departing Columbus).  Just need to find someone who'll share their room.

It'd be better for me to pay the extra to fly just so I wouldn't have to take 3 days off.

Finishing up the cape after two unsuccessful attempts using the inside-out-stitch-around-the-edge-then-flip technique and opted for simply hemming the edges. This whole mostly-self-taught sewing experience has led to a lot of personal discovery and little jargon-learning. Either way, the cape won't look like I'm wearing a giant malformed SOCK now.

Not deciding on what your 4th outfit's gonna be definitely makes it hard to be done a month in advance, but I work best under pressure woooo.

Yeah, admittedly the majority of my stuff has already premiered at other cons and I've been working on them since November. Then again, I've never been quick to do this sorta thing and I don't intend to invest a large amount of time and effort into it. Speaking of fourth costumes though...

You can still bring Medicine if you want, though, we'll have a Yuuka at least and MediYuuka isn't unheard of.

I have no idea what we're going to have in terms of the 100% full PoFV cast. When I first talked to Suzuran, I thought we would have an Aya/Yuuka/Shiki/Machi squad and Medi would round that out.

@ UK & Kilga: Alright, our game of Telephone got messed up somewheres. Either way, Kyon will be out of retirement for a brief period of time for Otakon.

@ Triangles: Don't worry, my Red Mage outfit is a wool blend. That includes the cape. Yeah, 4 pounds of antiperspirant.

Does anyone know if there is a distinct count of how many touhous/toubros going? I'm not much of a regular visitor of any site that would have such info.

My Momiji costume is still being sewn together, and I need to procure the other various accessories (tokin, geta, tabi socks, etc.) to complete it.  I don't think I'll be making the sword and shield, to save time.  At any rate, I have a couple other loligoth costumes I might wear, if I'm brave enough.  =|

So, an awesome idea occurred to me but I don't know how workable it'd be. But, a lot of us will be in Baltimore by Thursday evening, right? So couldn't we have like an MotK dinner or something? That'd be really fun if it could be made to work. I'm willing to help where I can if anyone has any ideas on making this workable and we have interest in it.

Another forum I frequent does it every year, you kind of have to reserve the place way in advance due to the amount of people that come through.  Thursday would be a bad night anyways as most people are dead tired from just coming in.

Well, cosplay.com had a cosplay dinner Thursday night last year, but IIRC it was planned earlier. So, I can understand if it's too late to plan such a thing.

Yeah the forum I frequent gets about ~20-30 people for the Thursday dinner and we've learned to book well in advance so we don't get crammed in a corner like one year :ohdear:

Err, you do realize everything in walking distance is basically gone.  And you really don't want to coordinate getting 15-20 people to a restaurant that isn't within a few blocks from the waterfront, it's a nightmare and you'll have a lot of lost people.
