I hope it's not a phantasmagoria. But if it is I guess it will include Sanae, Kanako OR Suwako, Satori, Rin, Utusho, Byakuren, Kogasa OR Nue. In addition to old  ones, probably replacing the unpopular characters like prismrivers and Medicine. Maybe even Hatate seeing Aya came in StB and PoFV.

If ZUN does end up making a Phantasmagoria game, the only improvement I would be happy with is more pretty danmaku, less random shit spam. The patterns in Touhou games are supposed to be beautiful, not a fuck-tonne of dots going at random speeds and angles. Even the PC-98 games had prettier danmaku than PoFV, simply because the dots were at least in some sort of pattern. The game would exponentially increase in entertainment value if it somehow improves on the danmaku, to me at least.

This thread is amazing. Double Spoiler hasn't been released for a month and people are already speculating about Touhou 13 for the second time. Comiket isn't also anywhere soon yet.

it's not like people are ever certain about said speculations, or stating them as truths. So, stop, Helepolis

anyways, what I'd like to see:
- better character balance (I normally avoid using Reimu, Komachi and Sikieiki in versus matches)
- no crashes when I'm trying to save replays
- also, no desynchs when I'm playing as/against Lunasa/Merlin (haven't tested the native netplay, though)
- newcomers/newer/former characters
- team system (that would enrich the gameplay and competitive potential)
- alternative scoring mechanics, in addition to PoFV's. I'm curious about what can ZUN manage to pull out. (cancelling lots and lots of bullets while maintaining control over your chain was very awesome in PoFV). Kioh Gyoku had grazing, for example, for those who like that feature.
- diversity of opponents/opponents that shoot you (and aren't Lily White or boss characters)
- better programmed AI (Medicine and the characters who have lasers are currently AI-killers in PoFV)

No one's against it, but people are being realistic and accepting that ZUN's more likely to go to an AA meeting than bring back the PC-98  characters. That and everyone is fucking sick of fans screaming for Mima to come back.


Also, I adore the PoFV games, but yes, making it possible to beat the Lunatic AI before losing twice would be nice.

He must have had a few occasions where he got pulled into AA meetings by his family then, forgot that he hated all PC98 characters, brought one or two back, then escaped rehab and got straight back on the cold drafts lol
