Danmakufu not working on XP

So I got me Danmakufu v0.12m (if I am not mistaken, it is the recent) and I am trying to make it work on XP. I already installed Japanese language packs and used Applocale to start the exe, but all that happens is that Danmakufu opens a Window, then there comes some sort of dialog in which I only can say OK, and all that happens is the window staying black. I checked the task manager, it doesn't seem to have crashed, it's just that nothing happens.

Not to mention, that the config.exe won't even open up when clicked.

Is there actually a way to make the game work under Vista 32bit?

I think I messed up a bit when doing this stuff on Vista.

Oh, and it was mentioned that it isn't recommended to use Danmakufu on a Virtual Machine... ^^"
