IaMP Netplay
« on: March 16, 2010, 09:35:26 PM »
 Does anyone still do it?

Personally, I've been looking for people to fight other than the computer for quite a bit of time now, and I've given up and chosen to ask it rather bluntly, do you even still play this game?

(Also, and final point, sorry for being new here and not exactly looking ready to ask this question)

I did for a little bit. The problem just seems that all the medium players left long ago, and left a tiny crew of real hardcore IaMP players. So when I tried, I found my way to an IRC channel, sat around for a bit and blended in, I then connected to someone who said he was "actually one of the worst players here" and ended up utterly obliterated. And I mean completely destroyed.

But I think there's an IaMP wiki someplace, with a link to an IRC channel with all those hardcore players who don't like Hisoutensoku...

 Ah, figured... :ohdear:

Mind trying me out? - I do believe I am rather pathetic of a player if you were to compare me to what you describe... :)

Well, I guess. Yeah! I think I'd like to start with IaMP again, too!
I found that IaMP wiki again (http://iamp.mizuumi.net/index.php/Main_Page), so I'll be on the IRC channel from time to time. I remember the connection bit being batshit confusing, though. Seems they use something called Rollcaster now... I think mine was called CowCaster...
I'm not much of a competitive player, too. Half of me is trying to chicken out already...

Bah! xD

Ah, this is actually my first time with IRCs and I have no clue really how to make it work....

Could you connect with me in some other way until an understand comes?

  Youtube: http://www.youtube.com/user/Shangmal?feature=mhw4

That would be an example...you could use that, if you dont have that, I understand hamachi and you could enter the eyeamp;iamp  iamp;eyeamp  networks... :ohdear:

Oh blasted. I'm sorta the other way around. Hamachi, hamachi...
I don't like IRC myself, but it's where the crowd hangs out. Oh well.

I installed RollCaster, and it seems to be working just like the old CowCaster. Should be able to get it working, mmhm!
Either way I'll probably be off for today, after this post.

If you can find your way through the mysteries of getting IRC up and running, we could try and find out how to get through more mysteries of randomly confusing stuff like RollCaster. Even though I think that part should be pretty straight forward :D

If you're using Firefox, it'll probably be the easiest, as you can just get ChatZilla, which is pretty simple. (I.e. slightly less confusing.)

I still play IaMP sporadically. Add me on MSN and I'll be more than happy to take you on.

If only this were a few months sooner.

I've lost interest in the Touhou fighters altogether, but if I end up coming back to one it'll definitely be IaMP.

Dammit man, I asked if you wanted to play my friends and I, but you rejected anyways!

I was in the process  of losing interest at that time/was more interested in UNL.

I can't play both at once, the controls and combos are just way too different.

Plus, it's a pretty big if as to if I'd get back into it.

If the offer still exists, can you extend it to me? :S

I and some friends here in Brazil do play IaMP with ourselves (because latency would be a problem if we were to play with people from distant countries); if you live in South America (or even if you don't), feel free to pm me in #shrinemaiden (irc.ppirc.net) or #iamp (irc.mizuumi.net).
neku: now for something important.
Translations.
How much time do you guys think it will take for HM to be translated? Besides everyone's story modes and the whole menus, there's also the fact that the way HM's programmed is different from all other games. I bet it'll take two months.

lusvik: I don't mind about playing HM in japanese. The language of punching other people is international.

Lovely, just lovely, all this feedback, of course I'll accept your offer~ x3

I've gotten into the IRC with Chatzilla (yay) and I think I'm ready...though the people here DO sound pro....

So uh... Do you have MSN? because I haven't been added recently, and I don't see that you have an address...

Also, I might be busy until Wednesday. Lot's of stuff came up. >_>

I honestly never could get into IaMP as much as I got into SWR and 12.3. I don't know exactly why, since I love the fighting game genre in general.

IaMP is okay I play it now and then but every time I try to do Netplay the game crashes (I really think it's user error) also I don't know if I'm a good player....I've only played  on Normal but id really like to give it a try.

There's this straight-up unfortunate situation where I suck at fighting games, but if my contact ever gets back to me about IaMP and SWR, I'll let you know.
Do you know what the Bunbunmaru never reports on the murder of fairies?

Because it's not news.

What kind of fighters do you play? anime fighters? or traditional ones?
