You enter the dungeon. Barring a Fake Kogasa you dispatch preemptively, there is no one in here.

You're not sure where the keys are, and the cell doors seem locked. You take a look at the holes from the outside. Seems like something blew right through the wall.

There are no real signs the cells have been used. They're... scarily bare at the moment. The cells are clean of anything, you imagine Looters saw this as an easy spot to pick.

You're not sure. Apparently they even looted the debris here.

You move on to the next room.

Apparently, this is Byakuren's PRIVATE STUDY. The walls are lined with books, and there is a plain desk in the middle of here. The passage clicks behind you, sealing you in.

You feel something over this room, you suppose it would be a kind of barrier?

You keep still and scope out the room. It seems...ridiculously peaceful, and fully untouched. It makes you nervous, but you can't see a thing out of place for the study of a magician.

No dice. Still. C'mon, Where the hell is that thing?

You check around the door. Nothing visible, but you could assume it was a low-grade enchantment.

You look around the room. Jesus, you're pretty sure Byakuren didn't write these, atleast. Most of them are in different languages...

Could she really read all these? I mean shit, this one is in english. That's the most mind-numbingly crazy language ever!

You suppose.

You find a few that might be interesting. One seems to be a collection of hand taken notes by the monk herself.

Non-book wise, you find a key, and a circular cut of glass.

>Examine all three of these items.

The key seems plain and unassuming, you've little idea what it could go to. And the looking glass... -feels- enchanted, but you can't tell how.

You open the book of notes and get reading. The first few pages greet you.

You set the book down and rub your eyes. You're going nuttier than a nutter bar.

You ask the book if it's like the wall. You...don't really get a response.

>Consider if the glass is a lens. If so, apply it to the book if it continues to be weird.

You consider it. It could be...

You flip a few more pages. The book informs you it isn't talking to you, Byakuren just wrote down 'Hello, Chen.'

...Well.

Guh, Well it's ON the paper so...

You keep reading. The book informs you that Byakuren know you'd find this, eventually, and she'd be dead. Therefore, she left things you need to know.

>Ponder why Byakuren wrote that...

You're...confused. What the hell, When did Byakuren become a time-traveller?

>Might as well keep reading until it makes sense, or pages run out. Maybe we'll learn how to time travel ourselves!

You continue reading. Byakuren goes to explain how she imagines you're probably confused at this point, explaining that she is currently using something connected to a 'Word'. This word being 'Understand'. It's given her, as the name suggests, the capability to understand a few things. As such, as she is writing this, she is capable of understanding the myouren shrine will be attacked and destroyed in a month or two.

You flips the page. She informs you she doesn't understand how the fight will end, or much else about why it was attacked. Past that, the only thing she understands is you will find this book, and someone will find what shes using to receive this understanding.

She does however, feel she has reason to believe that you're a good-hearted and nice young girl, who'll no doubt use what she has come to understand for the right cause.

And then you killed her. Yeah. Great going there, Chen. You must've pretty much shattered her heart then. Actually, you kind of did.

You're a -terrible- kitty.

You have become DEPRESSED CHEN. You now add mope to every action you do.

Sounds right, has the right letters, the answer is... it must be NOT RIGHT! :D

>No idea what you're talking about, mate. See? Black and white up there.

You cry into your arm for abit. You're really sorry, Byakuren! You didn't mean to kill her!...well you didn't want to anyway.

You continue reading a bit mopily. It informs you a bit about the parasite, informing how it kind of influences the will of the creator on the subject. It also proves that SHE was infected with it. ... It also states outright that this means that the creator's will is stronger than HER.

This concept is actually really fucking scary. Jesus, You hope that doesn't mean they're actually STRONGER than HER and just you know...really determined here.

>Wonder if this is the sort of thing she would have done, back in the day?

If you mean Byakuren, you imagine she might've if she knew something like this. Though if she didn't actually know she was going to die... Is the information in here that important?

You continue reading. Theres a bunch of pointless info you don't imagine you'll ever need, but it pretty much proves that Nue -was- on target. This isn't an incident from inside. Someone from the outside is messing around here.

The name is on the next page. Do you want to FLIP THIS PAGE?
