>"Yeah, that's why I hadn't said anything before, although I've been thinking it for awhile, because there's just such a small chance of it. But if you say ravens are rare, and she's being so secretive...well, it makes me wonder. And yeah, no magic. So I can't use my familiars and the birds can't fly over it."

Wriggle nods. "One has to wonder, of course. The fact she managed to get something to set up an area where there is a distinct lack of magic... I think this person may be far more than that Raven ever was, Chen."

But they need some good information that they can't find on their own yet to make some progress. About the only thing I can think of would be that pit Underground, and that's sorta like trying to clip your nails by cutting off an arm... Got any ideas? Any stories of people acting like they got a parasite in them, maybe?"

Wriggle shakes her head. "Unfortunately, nothing quite so... If those two can't do anything, I can't think of anything to help... Jeez, what kind of impossible situation are those things?"

Wriggle nods. "I hate to say it, but probably not... Though... Huhm, No, I suppose thats just crazy thinking."

You decide to stay for a while until Meira shows up, Wriggle orders you some refreshments while the two of you wait. Fish! Your favorite!

"These are traps that manage to diminish an energy prevalent in the very make up of Gensokyo. This isn't just a simple task, Chen. I dare say making a sun is easier than that."

Their reistance is futile, they shall be assimilated into the CHEN.

Wriggle nods. "I suppose. What if the reason nothing is going on is because nothing is happening? I mean... Maybe they're not really trying to find things out."

EDIT: Whoops, sorry, I thought Wriggle was talking about Gensokyo as a whole, not just Patchy and Hina. My bad.

You blow a bubble pipe and look fancy, Wriggle can't help but crack a giggle.

Wriggle nods. "I'm not entirely certain, but if they're somehow connected to the parasites, they could be hiding something..."

You're not certain, I mean, Theoritically, Patchouli IS the library now...

Wriggle nods. "It may be nothing, though. Don't go too out of the way."

The telescope was pretty large. You'd imagine atleast 10 chens in length. You don't think you could move that thing... Though THE ROC may be able to. Or Ryudan.

You finish off another Salmon, as a bug comes in and informs Wriggle of Meira's arrival.

You're not exactly sure. I mean, they may be elsewhere in the mansion... But its a REALLY big telescope. You'll probably cause a great deal of shaking just trying to move it out. And you're not sure who would have a portable version...

Wriggle gives you the A-OK. You head off to visit the raspcallion.

You skip along to the INSECT PRISON. Meira is kept inside. She regards you with a bit of a glower.

You would, but pulling out dan would wreck the prison and cause wriggle a lot of grief.

You call in a rabbit to frighten a samurai priest. It...doesn't really work.

"Not long enough. What do you want, Cat?"

Yumigami declines your request to sing. "Don't have the voice for it. Lets just cut to the chase."

Meira coughs. "Being friendly? I've spent most of my time on the one from you tyrants!"

>"First, what were you trying to do, tearing down the remnants of the Hakurei Border?"

You resist. Its too early to play into her hand.

"Take whatever power it is that shrine maiden had. If the border went down as a consequence, why the hell should I care? Youkai set up the barrier, not humans. Nothing outside -I- should be fearing. Hell, I imagine the maiden pretty much kept the barrier up as a favor to all of you. See how that ended up for her."

And, I don't think you're that stupid, to just throw it all away on the toss of the dice. Especially since if you know anything about the border at all, you'd know it's the only reason there's magic here at all. I don't think you're stupid, but I do think you're trying to hide something when there's no longer a reason."

Meira chuckles. "Guessing? Come on. I know the history of this place, I know why theres a lot of youkai and few humans. And I know where those humans that youkai venture out to cook come from. I may not know everything outside, but I do know that they've a hell of a lot more reason to kill you youkai than me. Unless you plan to spring it on me that outside is suddenly a world where people kill eachother for no real reason?

That claim on the barrier being the only reason theres magic here at all is laughable. In the first place, where did the magic for the barrier before it was up come from, then. No where? And what about magical beings like yourself, you've existed before the barrier. I can see the overall level of magic dropping, like it has recently, sure. But hey, it seems like that isn't about to change anytime soon, so why not just take the power before it goes away?

I'm not hiding anything. Certainly less than you."
