>If we can use the Red Gem to warm up our toesies, then... yay! If not, we can just have cold feet for a little while!
>Keep going.

>You consider how to use the Red Gem to keep yourself from freezing. The closet you can get it making it wrap itself in flame and hover close to your legs. It helps a little bit. Still, your shoes, your good and not at all cheap shoes, are now ruined. Fuck.
>You continue eastward.
>The tunnel is widening a bit now. You see a similiar flow of water, from a tunnel too small to enter, feeding into this one from the south. The water is getting noticeably deeper, probably up to your shins. You think the ceiling is getting lower, your ears brush again it every so often.  Obvious exits are east and west.

> Press onwards!

>You continue onwards, your heart sinking and your feet and legs starting to freeze and you walk into the deeper water.
>Other streams join the one you are in through small tunnels; some just large enough you could theoretically crawl into; swelling it and deepening it as it starts to approach your knees. Your teeth are chattering now, despite the flame, and you're starting to lose all feeling in your feet. It's also getting hard to stand up, with the slope and the force of the water. The ceiling is starting to become less smooth, your ears are hitting on stalactites more and more often. Obvious exits are east and west.

>You're going to need a plan, yes.
>You don't know where the water is coming from. It seems to be sweating out of the rock itself. The only water source you could think of would be Suwako's Pond, and it's not been here as long as the falls, if people are telling old stories about the falls.
>You really liked them...
>There isn't much space, you have at best a foot worth of head clearance here. You'd need room for swaying and bobbing, at least.

>consider asking Suwako or Nitori for help; water hain't our thing

>You decide to cut your losses and backtrack.
>The way back is considerably more difficult than the trip there, as the slope and the incline work against you.
>Thankfully, with less water to combat, the Red Gem is able to do a better job of keeping you warm. Not as thorough as you might like, you periodically have moments of chilly shakes and a little teeth chattering, but you don't think you're in too much danger of something like hypothermia...
>After a few minutes, you return to the large chamber. It seems like a good place to warm up.
>You are in an apparently oval chamber that has suffered a great deal of erosion. The walls are full of little holes and tracks. Water seems to drip everywhere; there is a small amount of it standing on the floor. Your light is not enough to illuminate all of the chamber, leaving the south part of the chamber cloaked in shadow. To the east, a tunnel leads downwards, where all the water flows. Another tunnel to the to the west leads upwards. Obvious exits are west and east.

When I said paper airplane flying, think Superman flight or sumthing like that, while Touhou flying, for what I've seen, the character is basicly standing in the air. I hope this makes sense.

>Check out the south part of the chamber.

>Still shivering a bit, you examine the rest of the chamber.
>This part of the chamber is just as eroded as the northern on, but less empty. On the far wall, you can see an small stone shrine, barely recognizable after centuries of weathering. At its base is a Green Gem, shaped like a three-sided pyramid. A rather new-looking shimegawa, barely affected by the omnipresent water, lays on the ground, apparently fallen.

>distort the light to see if it's someone trying to play with illusions... or that apparition again

>You distort the light in a pattern you've become familiar with.
>Standing over the shrine, holding the Green Gem in its right hand, is the Apparition. It is more complete, much of its body has come into existence now. Its arms spindly, and would look almost skeletal if they were made of two bones rather than a single rod. Its whole body gives you that feeling, what parts of it you can see. Its chest looks as though covered in a hauberk that covers its upper torso, leaving the lower exposed, whre you can only see a thick rod, like an exposed spine. It wears something like greaves as well, covering its midsection and upper legs, before terminating into more rods that serve as its lower legs. It is missing some of an arm and a leg, and still some of its face. But otherwise, it seems to be fully...there.
>It regards you with its cold, artificial-looking eyes, and begins to approach you.

> If there IS someone, fire some danmaku at around the room
> If not, leave

>You fire, creating waves up danmaku, more than you would have previously believed you could have ever made. Numerous shots cut through its spectral body, but it doesn't seem to be bothered by it.

> Ponder the chances that the Gems power is affecting the room, and possibly using the rope-thingie as a medium/extension/power up.

>You think the gems should work normally. It seems the space around the shrine has already been defiled.
