>"Hmm. That might give me a new avenue or two to follow into once we finish with this business."
>You bid Patchouli farewell. "Good luck," she says.
>You leave the Library and begin the trek toward Youkai Mountain. Upon leaving the mansion, you note some girlish laughter from the direction of the statue garden, and look over to see a little blond girl with crystal wings and a parasol playing with the Young Basset Hound and apparently having a good time.
>The rest of the trek is uneventful, the wolf falling into step behind you. Soon the ground begins to gently slope upwards, as you enter a small, dense forest, the outskirts of Youkai Mountain.

> Head through the forest.

>You make your way eastwards through the forest.
>You continue eastwards and come to a village alongside a frozen river, set among a sizable field of cattails and other riverside plants. The slope here is very noticeable. The houses are designed to blend in with the scenery, having a sort of rounded look that makes one thing of rocks smoothed by flowing water; many of them seem to face or open directly into the river. There is one notable exception to this; a rather large warehouse at the edge of the village. There was certainly the effort made to make it look less boxy and more a part of the world around it, but there's really only so much one can do with a big ole warehouse. Several kappa mill about. Obvious exits are west, south, and east.

> Head for the warehouse.

>You are in a warehouse full of old scrap and assorted junk. The former outweighs the latter, but you can see some complete and recognizable things here and there, such as a telescope in the corner. The walls are also covered in various bits of scrap and half-finished things. Nitori is here, kneeling in the middle of the floor and tinkering with a large section of metal. Obvious exits are NorthA and NorthB.
>She looks over at you and nods. "Hey Reisen. Oh wow...where'd you get those floaty jewels? I want some!"

>"What're you asking all this stuff for?" Nitori says, as she stands up and walks toward you.
>She starts scrutinizing the Blue Gem. "I guess it's got something to do with these?" she asks, as she taps one, which gives you a feeling oddly reminiscent of being tapped on the shoulder.

> Explain situation.

>You concisely explain the situation to Nitori, telling her the gems are powerful artifacts and you're trying to find the last one, which you believe is around Youkai Mountain, having been placed there some centuries ago.
>"Huh," says Nitori, having taken a seat on a workbench while you were explaining. "There's some old stories about a human who visited a long ago, back when no one came here at all. But I don't know anything about any jewels. As for caves, well, there's a couple of them on the mountainside. I dunno if there's anything in them, I've never really explored them, but I'm certain other people have. Maybe it's up on the mountain top? Until the shrine appeared, it was too sacred for people to just walk up there."

>She leaves the warehouse, then stops as she notices the wolf sitting outside. There a moment of silence between the two, before she quietly sidles back in. "R-Reisen," she says, "That wolf's back..."
