I usually separate stuff into 3 folders: the sketch, the lineart, and the colors. For each of these folders, I make individual layers for every body parts (sometimes unimportant stuff like a strand of hair gets its own layer too :V). Now the next part is probably the silliest safety measure you've ever heard of. For every action that might permanently mess up a layer, I duplicate that layer and set one of them to hidden BV . A good example would be that Byakuren's contrast. It's very hard to reverse a Contrasted image to its original quality, so I had to duplicate the entire lineart and colors folders (each has around 35 layers). The result is a .psd file with only one-third of its total layers visible, but still eats up a shitton of space for temporary data.

I haven't drawn Byakuren before. This seemed simple and quick enough as an idea, but ended up taking a lot more time than I'd thought.

Aoshi: I think it might be due to how light and 'bubbly' the inking is (don't know what else to call it, but it's like your pen had air bubbles when you did the inking). I bet if you went over the lines in black, it'd look more 'finished'. Also, :*
