EoSD Hard.
One miss at Cirno's OPENER, with FOUR BOMBS in stock.
Three misses at Sakuya's stage, ALL with bombs in stock.
One miss at the spell before Vampire Illusion. And it becomes a 2cc.

I did capture Scarlet Gensokyo, though. This thing seems WAY more tame than the Lunatic version.

Yeah, in Red Magic the bubble bullets bounce off the side of the screen; this makes everything less uniform and more clusterfuck.

UFO Stage 5 boss and midboss have curving lasers, also stage 4 is random trajectory hell, it's harder than the boss proper. These are my latest in terms of rage inducers.

Reach Stage 5 midboss Sakuya with 3 spare lives. I arrive at Stage 6 with no spare lives and 2 bombs. I knew exactly what was going to happen when I arrived at Scarlet Meister with no bombs.

2 deaths during that entire run where I had 3 bombs in stock. I can 1cc this damn thing on Hard but I keep dying with bombs.

Edit: just had another bad run. Why the hell didn't I bomb Young Demon Lord when I had 2 bombs in stock. At least then I wouldn't have game overed to this. Nice wall there Remilia. Think I had one other death with some bombs as well.

Just failed a Lyrica lunatic 1cc at PoFV.
This was a real shame, because I had an amazing battle with Aya which lasted over 3 minutes.
Also dodged the most dense Shiki wall I've ever seen and not because of luck!

Bleh, had 3 extra lives going into Shiki as well.

It's just ~~playing as Reimu A~~ practice. And Stage 4 on Lunatic makes hard look hilariously easy.

Orin and her stage on Hard. Satori's stage not as much, but she's almost as bad as Orin if not worse. And Yuugi and her stage give me issues as well.

I just failed a pacifist EX Alice at her second to last phase because I forgot the pattern. >_<

Pacifist Alice is interesting. Most attacks take over a minute and a half to end, which is really freaking long.
Also to my shock, I found out that Alice's laser phase is not damage based, but time based.
The tiny lasers will spawn regardless and you have to survive that attack for like 73 seconds.

Spoilers: Alice's last attack has no timeout phase, as that one IS damage based and not time based. I timed it out on a savestate and it was still at the slowest speed when Alice exploded.

MS lunatic. Yet another game over at Yumeko's blue streams of doom. The usual stupid lossy deaths on stage 4, one attempt at deathbombing vs. Yuki/Mai without having any bombs left, postponed killing the stage 5 midboss a bit too much and missed out on the 1up, and was less than 10 item points away from an extend when the run ended.

I'm stuck on stage 3 on both SA and UFO.

Both due to laser fests, at least Yuugi's music is better and I can at least consistently get to the stage boss unlike fighting Ichirin where I only occasionally get past the midboss.

ANy tips on how to get better at these games?

Died 3 times to Yuugi, mostly failed the next 2 stages. Terrifying Hypnotism, Tengu Macro Burst, and Great Whirlwind are fucking hard, not that ReimuA or MarisaB Satori would be any easier.

On Stage 5, I arrive at Midboss Orin's Cat Sign "Vengeful Cat Spirit's Erratic Step" with no power to bomb with and almost time it out while trying to capture it then die with under a second left.

I can't capture any of boss Orin's spells consistently like on Normal where I could usually capture 2 of them. I sometimes capture the second one.

Despite this, I somehow make it to Utsuho's first spellcard. If I could get rid of the stupid deaths elsewhere I could 1cc. But Yugi and all of the next 2 stages are just hard for me.

Subterranean Animism Stage 4 Hard one death. That should have been a no death run of the stage in practice, but I died on Terrifying Hypnotism.

MS lunatic. No deaths until stage 4, then one death because I mistook a red round bullet from the first bunch of red bullet shooting fairies for a power item and simply ignored it, and later one stupid death to Yuki/Mai (aren't all deaths to Yuki/Mai stupid?).

Then I managed to die to the stage 5 midboss (WHAT), whom I then killed waaay too early leading to a lossy death during the stage, followed by a death with full bombs to Yumeko's first phase, and then the usual meltdown at blue streams which I did get past this time due a combination of still having some lives to lose there and twice surviving being trapped inside the triple-streams.

And then I somehow lost my last life to the pre-Shinki circles. Seriously. Two bombs in stock here. Somewhat far from the 400 point items extend as well.

The concept of no deathing Marisa A Patchouli is kind of insulting. It's basically saying "hey, I have five spell cards, and if you did the stage right you'll have 3 bombs. All I ask is that you capture two of my spell cards, and one of mine is already pretty easy. So out of four spell cards, just capture one and you can bomb spam the rest of me."

Done.

It. I didn't put her above Satori on my hardest list because it's just rank related, but on max rank Marisa A Patchouli is probably the hardest boss in the series. It doesn't help that a whopping 3 spell cards use those shitty flame bullets with the impossible to figure out hitboxes.
