Sleeping Table FFFFFFFFF-
« on: December 02, 2009, 06:27:53 PM »
I knew about it. Everyone keeps talking about the goddamned Sleeping Table, how you need Mediarama, how you just need to tough it out, so I thought, "hey, I'll take the time to level, make some kick-ass personas, then fight it when I'm properly ready."

So why are my two most competent healers either too weak to survive a single hit or are actually vulnerable to the damn Maragidyne? I can't heal the damage away quickly enough to survive two volleys.

In short: FFFFFFFFFFFF

Durr sir, durr. Seems like it's a luck-based thing, or you know something I don't know. Still, can't argue with results.

Banana summed it up, yeah.  It's luck or grinding, take your pick.  There's no trick to beating it.

I ground my way through 127 hours of Persona 3 before beating it.

I got through about 17 hours of Persona 4 before Yukiko's shadow boss simply just kept thrashing me.

I just sold my copy of Persona 4  :V

I grinded the hell out of P3, I beat the game with a party of 99s, but everything was really easy by that point.

Just grind more, Sleeping Table is hard but not as annoying as Jotun of Grief.

I'm really looking forward to P4 once I get it....the AI in P3 was horrible.
I mean, ACTUAL STRATEGIES without the AI fucking them up all the time.
Hell yes.

I love it when a console game gets to kick my ass these days, but I want it to kick my ass fairly. Not because the AI is utter shit.

You will never be this good.
Give me Megidolaon at lv42 and we'll talk :V

Also, why not just get Wind Boost and Garudyne on a fire resistant persona? It barely ever uses Fear anyways and Megidola only tickles.

The AI in Persona 3 is probably the most reliable AI I've ever seen. Unless they fixed up the AI in P3:FES I don't see how you could have a problem.

It was good, but it was not perfect.

Example: Using Mitsuru, she had a bad habit of mind charging (wasting a turn) and then using a non-attacking spell, like Tentarafoo or Marin Karin.

There was a time and age where Tentarafoo actually did damage.

I miss those days.

yes reliable
very much

try to get 3 ppl poisoned and watch the ai break harder than vs medicine in PoFV
they always heal before using dis poison
and they get hurt while healing
endless loop hurr

also aigis can't buff properly
everyone has sukukaja, no one has rakukaja and only aigis doesn't have tarukaja
>aigis casts matarukaja which affects only herself, other 3 lose tarukaja on the next turn
derp

also THE FINAL BOSS HAS MULTIPLE FORMS
So Yukari, that means WHEN I HAVE 32 HP LEFT AND THE BOSS HAS LIKE 100, YOU HEAL ME INSTEAD OF SHOOTING THE BOSS SO I DON'T GET ASSFUCKED ON THE NEXT TURN THANKS TO YOUR SHITTY AI WHICH HAS FINISHING THE ENEMY RANKED HIGHER THAN HEALING ME EVEN ON THE HEALING TACTIC

HURR DURR

not to mention that mediarahan is used only when 2+ ppl have <50% HP
that means that you waste so many turns healing and you don't even heal everyone AND you waste more TP than with one mediarahan cast

GREAT AI ATLUS
Once I get P4, I won't play it without a huge pack of tissues because DIRECT CONTROL IS GONNA BE THAT FUCKING AWESOME AFTER THE TORTURE WHICH IS P3 AI

Prepare to curse a lot when you'll see "Poison Mist" come up.
Especially on hard mode....lots of full party poisons.

Chie and Mabufu. Keeps the Charming Prince down while Chie defends so she doesn't get burninated.

After that, it's about a ten-level gap between each boss, so there is a bit of grinding involved but it's not nearly as evil as P3's. I don't know if I'll ever play P3 either, it sounds like a good game but it's quite hard. P4 is not as hard, to me (then again I was playing on Easy mode), but still fairly challenging, my only regret is that I didn't get all max S-links on the first playthrough (kicks the Devil, Moon and Tower links). Those EXP equips would have helped with grinding. =P

Same here, though that Charming Prince is a right bastard.  I haven't played in a bit, though, so I'm just about to get into the fourth dungeon.  I should get back on that.  (Finals?!  PAH!!)

What he said. I mean shit, Only one boss ever actually beat me. And that was just an optional pain in the ass one.  :V

P4 is definitely far easier than P3, Or I'm some kinda crazy RPG madman.

Erm, yeah, it is.  I'm on the third, actually, though it's the fourth person.  Thus confusion.  (The Striptease...*shudder*)

I didn't have much trouble with the optional bosses myself, though the one in Heaven was kind of annoying. One of the Jotun things. I remember it was immune to physicals and at least one element, I ended up using my damage-dealing items to kill it lol.

Oh yeah, that was pretty kooky. Shadow Teddie scared the crap outta me. He was a pushover, though (again, easy mode).

I find the difficulty to be all over the place in P3. Half the time I'm cheesing my way through three or four floor bosses with MC solo set on rush while I go make tea, the other half I get party-wiped by regular encounters. I find P4 to be more regularly challenging, though P3 had more "what the hell?" moments of difficulty.
