Chiyuri and Yumemi, because they're two of my favorite characters. Sariel and Shinki are pretty awesome as well.

How would you fight Yuugenmagan in a shooter anyways?

All of them. Seriously. I mean... ZUN has come a long way since the PC-98 era, and honestly, most of the danmaku wasn't so impressive back then. It was often just... Stuff to dodge. In some cases, still hard as hell, but... Honestly, I'd love to see what kind of danmaku every single PC-98 character would have in modern games, what their themes would sound like if ZUN remixed them...

I would too, but in terms of likelihood it doesn't seem to great. :./

I for one don't want to hear PC-98 themes remixed. Some of them are conductive to it, but the vast majority would sound weird. I always think modern-sounding remixes of chiptunes sound off because they're putting more instruments into it than the song needs. Besides, the fact that the songs are made in this FM Synth gives the song a quality they wouldn't have with modern day technology.

Personally, it doesn't matter who comes back, so long as PC98 gets some spotlight. But if I had to choose.

Konngara (Bomberman TSA epicness)
Kikuri (I await to see her implemented in a game the same way the Moon of Majora's Mask was)
Sariel (End of Evangelion parody waiting to happen)
Shinki (Because I'm a hopeless Shinkifag~)

The tank from stage 1 of SoEW. I want to chase it through the stage and watch it mow down fairies and things in its path while shooting danmaku back at you. :V

Seriously though, I do not really care who (or if anyone) is reintroduced. Apart from a handful of faces, most of the PC-98 cast is just a blur to me, despite the considerable amount of time I have spent with those games.

Prior to PoFV though, I would have said Yuka, as she is one of my favorite characters. I was pretty disappointed to see that she did not receive an entry in Grimoire of Marisa.

I would like to at least see Mima and Shinki. I never had anything against Mima, and Shinki would be amusing to see return, if only because her interaction with Byakuren would be hilarious. On that note, Shinki needs to bring Yumeko along, so we can have a Yumeko vs Sakuya fight.

But if I had to pick characters to actually return, I'd like to see everyone in PoDD, especially Yumemi, Chiyuri, Ruukoto, Ellen, and Kana Anaberal. And Kurumi and Elly too, just because I think they're adorable.

Oh, and Evil Eye Sigma. Being able to fight EES in a non-shitty game like SoEW would be fantastic.

Neither do I. It's the goddamn fanbase though.

Only reason why I mentioned Yumemi is because I would like to see how she would interact with the Windows characters. She'd be much more amusing to see than others IMO.

Isn't the whole "Mima thing" only revolving around the meme of "reintroducing" her everytime a new game is announced ? I don't really see how that leads up to so much hate about her.

Frankly speaking, I think the only PC-98 character that really deserves a come back is Elly. I mean... at least she has some kind of development behind her. Using a boomerang shapped scythe as weapon, and shooting the floating tiles at you. Something different from your ordinary danmaku shooter boss... I mean, look at gengetu. She is a extra stage boss but has no definition on what is her main ability whatsoever. Apart from this, Elly has a memorable stage theme, and a decent boss theme. She is also a subbordinate from Yuka... which can be another note. Since Yuka returned in a windows game already... so, she could team up with her in order to make a playable pair, similar to the IN system. Elly just needs a surname and some more development and she would be a notable windows character. Aside from that... I would say Mima for obvious reasons.

Kotohime was interesting too, a princess trying to be an adventurer/'policeman'. And I don't know why, but Sara looks cuddly.
Sariel, though lacking dialogue, looked pretty bad ass. I can imagine, as Angel of Death, she's an subordinate of Shinki (since last time I checked Goddess > Angel, and they both lived in Makai). Together with Byakuren they would form the Makai Triad! (God - Angel - Messiah)

And just to fit in with all the other Mimatards: WE NEED MIMAZ!!1!

In a way, the "FOR SCIENCE" team still exists in the form of Eirin and Nitori.

Eirin works with chemicals and drugs while Nitori has a knack for building fun gadgets.
