I guess it's # of pictures taken, and # of pictures taken till first capture.
Kinda weird that it counts pictures and not attempts (or both)

Gentlemen! After extensive biological research and paying extra attention during biology class I have been able to create proof that ZUN made a grave error in Cage in Lunatic Runagate and that it is impossible for Mokou to get sick.

BGM: Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Pursuit ~ Cornered

Viruses and bacteria enter human bodies to reproduce themselves (and for nourishment in the case of bacteria. Viruses are basically lifeless and don't eat). Bacteria gain nourishment by feeding off of human cells and reproducing inside them, destroying the cells. They eat their way through vital cells, and often emit substances that have negative effects on cells, destroying or damaging them too. Viruses can only reproduce by placing their own DNA in cells, which then combine with the DNA in that cell to form new viruses. The number of viruses in the cell keeps growing and growing until the cell bursts apart. They keep doing that with more and more cells until the human's internal defense system makes the viruses unable to do any more harm (viruses can't be destroyed by natural means, but you can prevent them from infecting more cells by changing the cell's properties, making it unable for viruses to keep producing and forcing them to slowly die out). Because these invaders destroy so many vital cells in such large numbers the infected gains problems to their health. Diseases are caused by cells being destroyed, which lead to negative effects! Heart, liver, skin and other organ diseases and infections are all caused by invaders destroying it slowly bit by bit!

And that is where the immortals come in: Hourai elixir makes one regenerate from any injury, you can't deny that. Cuts, blasts, burns, flesh wounds, no matter what it heals again. If an immortal is completely destroyed to the molecular level they revive with a new body the next day. So all these wounds obviously get healed by cells rapidly regenerating and fixing the wound. The character remains young because they maintain a perfect cellular regeneration, making their bodies unable to deteriorate and grow old. It all revolves around perfect cellular regeneration!

So if a bacteria or virus destroys an immortal's cell, the cell should instantly regenerate/be replaced with a newly made cell. No matter how hard the virus or bacteria tries, they will be unable to destroy enough cells to cause any negative effects on the immortal whatsoever. The regeneration of an immortal is faster than any virus or bacteria. And by the time the viruses and bacteria have finally copied themselves enough to keep up with the regeneration the immortal would have already created an immunity against the invaders, making the invaders die out.
Viruses and bacteria can impossibly make an immortal sick because they could never be able to keep up with their cellular regeneration! And the immortal would have built up an natural immunity to the disease long before the time the viruses and bacteria have enough forces to keep up with the cellular regeneration!
And cancers are also caused by cells being 'broken' and 'damaged', making them run rampant and causing negative effects. Because it's damaged, it gets fixed up due to the workings of hourai elixir and rapid cellular regeneration. Or the immortal could rip out the tumors herself and then let the cellular regeneration fill up the spots again with healthy cells.

And if the immortal suffers from a disease that cancels out defense systems (AIDS, obviously), the immortal could just let their body be blasted to dust, making the viruses 'fall out' of the destroyed body and scattering (and dying. HIV can't survive in open air). The immortal would revive the other day with a new, magically fabricated body, devoid of any HIV viruses and allowing their body to build up a defense system again.

Conclusion: Mokou couldn't possibly have become sick because she has perfect cellular regeneration! If she would show symptoms of disease it would mean the disease in question would make a normal human be visibly devoured alive from the inside by zillions of viruses and bacteria. And that is fucking impossible since the human would have long before that either have made an immunity or have died in a non-violent and non-gory way. It is IMPOSSIBLE for ANY kind of bacteria or virus to be able to produce THAT many brethren in one being in such a short amount of time!

Spoiler:
And poison also revolves around destroying cells of vital organs in large numbers! The poison would also be unable to keep up with the sped up cellular regeneration, and the body would eventually make an antidote for itself before any real harm happens! So Eirin can't be immortal if she rushed inside her lab for an antidote and stop the poison! If she was immortal, it wouldn't matter for her! She wouldn't notice a thing of the poison inside her!!!!

So in the end, ZUN either made an error or CiLR never happened.
CASE CLOSED

... what are you talking about? Mokou doesn't get sick in CiLR.

.......but I thought you all said she got sick there......

In which story did she get sick then? Inaba of the Moon & Inaba of the Earth? Silent Sinner in Blue? You all mentioned a story where Mokou got sick! I tried to prove earlier that ZUN made an error about that, and that Mokou couldn't possibly get sick, but then you all dismissed it. Now I have a stronger argument to prove that ZUN made an error, but which story did Mokou get sick then?

Ugh, never mind then. No matter what story that 'Mokou got sick' part came from, I proved it is absolutely impossible for Mokou to get sick.

Does anybody know of, like, Touhou coloring pages?

I really hope they exist. It sounds so fun.

Coloring pages... like the ones that are sold in bookstores and are meant for you to color in using coloring pencils, markers, pastels...etc.?

If so, there's a tag especially for that on pixiv.
... Or if you're willing to wait, I can create a zip for you after I get a PC that will work properly.
Right now, -as I stated earlier and on other posts- my PC is as good as Cirno's IQ, so I can't do anything at the moment. Give me a couple more days to a week. :P

There's a tag for it? Ah, that's awesome! But yeah, the whole coloring book kind of thing.

The tag would be just good enough for me.

"塗ってもいいのよ"

Nothing beats a quick 3-minute search on Pixiv! I see I still haven't lost my touch. There are a few variations that I found but this would be the main one I believe.

Haven't been able to find any info related to this, so I'm asking here:

Is it known if Zun has ever played any of the Touhou fangames? Does he like any in particular? Has he ever hinted at making any new games of genres differen than danmaku and fighting?

Sorry, I actually read CiLR and Mokou said she is cold. As she's having a human body, when the temp goes down she is cold and her joints hurt, but "after a sleep it's fine". So she didn't get sick or anything.

Well, it can't be helped. This is a one-man doujin game so don't dig too deep on it. I mean, it's just ZUN's imagination, even if it differs with other documents all we should do is laugh a bit and let it go.
Or else we may have a debate about why Ran didn't eat Chen :o

Recent events got me to thinking: do we pick our favorite Touhou characters based on our own personalities and skills, and do those favorites make those traits stronger (ex. someone who likes Mystia may develop a greater passion for singing)?

Regarding score threads: For the time being, I'm not going to be online much; I would suggest that you simply do as you normally do, because I will come back and I will want those threads when I do.

Well, Thundr picked Yuuka because he loves gardening, and his passion for gardening only got stronger from it. I think I might have picked Shinki because I have aspirations for Godhood and I love power, and Shinki is the Goddess of the Demon World, and is thus omnipotent. My thirst for power has been growing stronger lately...

I'm not sure if this had been asked before, but I want to ask something regarding Youmu's swords.

Touhou wiki says that Hakurouken cannot be wielded by normal humans.  Is it ever mentioned anywhere about what will happen to humans who try to wield it?  Does this apply to Roukanken as well?

It seems like those swords were made up by ZUN, so no clue. However judging from the wiki, normal human cannot wield Roukanken due to its origin (made by youkai) so it has youkai power and normal human can't touch it. Maybe it will burn you, or make you sick, but it's not a curse. If you're trained enough you can use it properly without any trouble, hopefully.
Hakurouken is a heirloom of the Konpaku, so it can be wielded by none except the Konpaku.

So they both cannot be wielded by normal humans?  BTW, what does it mean to be a "normal" human in Gensokyo?  Are the likes of Reimu and Marisa considered to normal humans?  If a person is very skilled in using swords but is a normal human, can he or she still wield Roukanken?

You see, I'm working on a fan fiction and I will have to somehow alter the plot if neither of those swords can be wielded by a normal but skilled swordsman.
