Has any game in history had a gap this big between official rating and player's rating?

Either a massive hack or proof that IGN and other game rating sites suck and are backed by money.

Well a lot of people seem extremely disappointed on the game in the forums, mainly PC gamers.

GOD FUCKING DAMMIT.

Okay, so I went up to Movie Gallery to pick up my preorder today right?

Well, apparently I was supposed to be there by Thursday (which no one told me about) and THEY FUCKING SOLD MY COPY.

All they had left was 3 copies of the PS3 version and the 360 Hardened edition, which was $20 more.

And I lost my $5 deposit. All because no one FUCKING TOLD ME I WAS SUPPOSED TO BE THERE BY THURSDAY.

Also, I was supposed to go to a pre-release tournament Monday night and pick it up then, but OF COURSE I get fucking sick 2 days before and can't go.

So basically I ended up spending $85 on something I could have got for free, had I not gotten sick.

Fuck you movie gaylery.

Just another game with games if you ask me. :/

Only reason I like tf2, l4d, & half life is the charm.
Otherwise I'm not fond of fpsers.  I miss the Army Men series.

Hahaha, I saw that yesterday. That was insane, especially since throwing knives are a pain in the ass to use, anyway.

I'm having fun just collecting titles and emblems right now. I wish I could find a full list of them so I can know how to get them.

Just got this game and it's freaking sweet! Every campaign mission is original in a way, that's nice for replay value, not just *shoot at house -> run to next house -> shoot from inside house -> repeat*. Multiplayer kicks ass aswell, altough the standard classes suck dick, but luckily you can make your own from level 4 and that's when the massacre starts. I just love that you can take a shotty as your side arm, altough I don't really see the point in still having pistols when you can have AUTOMATED pistols!

Well, I recently purchased this game and I gotta say i'm kinda disapointed with the single-player campaign...It's doesn't mean it is bad though. It is intense, an adrenaline packed roller coster, but the storytelling feels rushed, and i couldn't understand some aspects of it...

But, being a brazilian, used to the favela landscape, I was very impressed with the Rio de Janeiro level.  ;D ( by the way, I'm new here, nice meeting everybody, sorry about my horrible english)

I died so much at that part, at least 5 tree deaths and 4 deaths due to hitting a rock which caues you to get launched into the air and landing next to the slope.... that's a really deep cliff.

In one of the recent interviews, Activision is planning to add monetisation.They said they were looking at one of Blizzard's most successful game, World of Warcraft, and they think it's doing well because of the monthly fees. It sounds like they are going to add priced content but others assume that it will get constant updates but with monthly fees a la WoW. They also said "From what we see so far, additional content, as well as all the services Blizzard is offering, is that there is demand from the core gamers to pay up for that." So this sentence means basically that gamers said "Don't be so nice and give us free content, make us pay for it." This may not mean much to the console players but it means that PC players have to pay now.

Wow, I just got down watching a couple of those complaint vids, it makes me wonder how they decided on such a poor connection scheme. I remember having a steady ping of over 1500 on an AOL connection and still didn't have as much of a rough time as MW2 players are having... @_@;

The whole stink over IWNet and dedicated servers boils down to this:
* 9v9 players max, and only for Ground War gametypes
* No admins to kick hackers
* IWNet ensures that IW has control over what maps you play: thus, they can charge for multiplayer DLC
* More lag than dedicated servers
* No mods/custom maps
* Host player has a 0-ping advantage

I'm not sure myself, it was coded well so there wasn't alot of skipping, but I usually had to lead about another inch or two beyond what I would normally need to lead with, it varied with what kind of connection I was having.

The only time I had a game that had that went into epilepsy mode was either when I got ping spikes of +2k. Then there was that one time where the game host could not see my ping. The game I was playing had collision damage and the collector unit did some massive damage.

I was also told when someone tried to attack me, I was leaving afterimages making it look like there was 3 of me. @_@;

What I think this boils down to is when MW2 was coded for games, it wasn't made to handle lag well. Getting red bars if your connection was over 150 was it? No wonder the game can't handle PC multiplayer well. :/

Picked it up for PS3 since the whole dedicated server crap scared me away from the PC version. I'm terrible with dual analog sticks T_T
Luckily multiplayer is just "spray and pray and get 3 kills lolol" Not much depth in it compared to something like 1.6, or Quake, or even TF2.
Singleplayer was really good though.

Lots of the CoD community hates MW2, and most of them are actually "switching" over to Battlefield: BC2 when it comes out. Hoping that BC2 is the next big FPS.

got this on release day for ?26 from Sainsburys

the Single player - Good , but way too short in my opinion and all the sublety that let you relate to real life in CoD4 being taken out with a sledgehammer
Spoiler:
HOORAH MARINES , LETS RE-TAKE THE WHISKEY HOTEL ... US 6 (or however many it was) BRAVE MARINES AGAINST PRETTY MUCH EVERYTHING THE COMMIES CAN THROW AT US
to quote Yahtzee (about Medal of Honour) the patriotism can be cut with a bayonet. Also way too short , I did it all on Vetern in one sitting (from waking up to going to bed granted , but 1 sitting)

The Sp Ops Missions I'm about 60% the way thru of them with my sister but some of them can get stupidly hard at times so that's on hiatus atm , may pick that up again later.

the multi-player is good fundamentally , the best one yet in my opinion (bye bye Juggernauts and Martyrs). The only 2 moans I have about it are that it seems to encourage camping (I exaggerate not , I killed the same person 3 times by checking a certain spot on 1 map in quick succession , but got sniped off my spawn 3 times in quick succession in the same place too) and the other problem is that the same as the old ones but more so on this one this game doesn't kick you when you are down ... it curbstomps you when your down , I got 3 harriers called in in a row against me once and my team went from just trailing to being mauled badly because of that.

but overall , yeah - I would say worth getting.

The multiplayer is fine if you know how to adapt.
Camping? Bomb the spots with grenades
Air support? Switch to your class with cold blooded + stinger (YOU NEED TO HAVE ONE!)
Snipers? Just flank

I unlocked the ACR the other day, my god what a brilliant weapon. I doubt I'll ever switch it out

I never thought of cold blooded , I prefer to have my steady aim as I massively hip shoot , but I do have a stinger class but my response to air support is camp in buildings , it's mainly players on my team that get mauled

and the camping spawn-killing map is that snowy one , if that map comes up I just don't bother no more with that map even if it means leaving the lobby.

ACR ? haven't unlocked that yet , I think that's the next Assualt Rifle I get to unlock actually.

EDIT: *Realises cold blooded is Red , not green* you have a point , but I like my increased bullet damage.

Only play multiplayer over Live when a friend brings it over, but it is oh so sweet. I'm the sort of sad guy who plays FFA all the time, currently running a SCAR-Holographic and Throwing Knife (which is impractical as all hell but incredibly awesome). Currently Level 20, but again I can't play it as much as I'd like to.

Seconding the camping complaint, though. Mainly it's because I don't play with grenades, but. >_>

Yeah, the camping is a real pain in the ass.

Right now I'm using a SCAR-H with a holographic sight, Scavenger Pro/Lightweight/Ninja build. Kind of an experiment until I reach level 36 and get an actual good sniper rifle so I can try to get the 'Perfectionist' title. Then again, I like my cute 'Companion Crate' one...

Eh, I completed the campaign but it only says 50.8% done or something. I clicked resume hoping for an epilogue or something but it just restarts the last save. I'd assume other difficulty settings but..well. wouldn't it be 25% done then since I only completed it on 1 setting? I just don't get it. The special ops missions or whatever don't seem to connect, it's been sitting at 50.8% even after I completed  half of the ones you can solo (my bro hasn't had the time for the 2-player ones with me yet).

As for insanely tough ones. Are you referring to the stupid snipers in ghillie suits one? That one is just so damn cheap on the hardest setting. I ALMOST did it once too. I just don't see how skill has anything to do with getting past the 2 ghille suit camping spots. I understand sometimes their area flashes just before they shoot you, but nobody can react that fast..Hell even if you could, the game just plain doesn't allow you to look down the scope in the 0.2 seconds after the flash before you get nailed before the sniper. What sucks even more is they are the only thing stupid soap does NOT go "beautiful" or "he's down" for when you kill one. So you just have to hope you got him, take a peek around the corner, and have a random chance of being wtfpwnt.

If that's not all, sometimes they randomly decide not to shoot for lengths of time. so you just assume they are all dead. Only to shoot later when you are nowhere near cover, or at the same time as another one who shot you. UGH.. That's how I died that one time, I was out in the open like 40m away from the ending, nobody was shooting me, so I went for the finish when blam, dead. @%@%#.
