i realy don't get the BOAMB MOAR advice: wouldn't bombing again and again just get in the way of learning and practise?
Of course it will.
Running through PCB Normal, I completely cheesed my way through everything past about Merlin's first noncard, using bombs at every possible opportunity. I started Stage 5 with 4 lives and 4 bombs, and ended stage 6 with no lives and two bombs. I had captured only one card in stages 5 and 6 on Normal, ever. Would I call myself capable of taking on the last three bosses of the game? Of course not; my attempts to get the 1cc didn't help me there at all. If your goal at the game is to improve at beating specific spellcards, bombspamming your way through the game isn't going to help at all. But if your goal is to 1cc Normal, you have to abuse every tool at your disposal.
That, and I guarantee that setting a goal like that and clearing it will give you a huge confidence booster. That alone will make you play way better.
