From my understanding, what happened with the Suguri translation was that RA contacted Sara (the author of the fan translation patch) and hired her to work on the translation of the game. In cooperation with her, they probably took what she already had and revised it, but in any event, the patch isn't directly available online anymore, for obvious reasons. There's nothing underhanded there. It's a similar situation to MangaGamer approaching the Sonozaki twins for Higurashi, except that it didn't fall through.
More or less correct.
I was actually hired on to do the work involved in the localization, and I revised the translation personally as well as doing the translation work on Acceleration of Suguri (which I had never released a complete patch for).
Without going into any confidential details or anything, the graphics work was completely revised, etc. as anyone can see immediately by playing, and I wasn't hacking or anything this time of course, I was doing proper programming work instead.
I'm really happy working with Rockin' Android.
All of them are great people and the work we do is interesting.
So far I've been involved with Suguri, Acceleration of Suguri, Qlione, and Flying Red Barrel.
Apparently. Like, they announced a while back that they wanted to get Rosenkreuzstilette, and so I contacted them to inquire further about it, since we got direct permission from [erka:es] to do the TL and even helped push digital distribution of the game, so you can buy the game online from anywhere and download our officially-endorsed English patch. I still haven't heard a thing from them.
To be honest with you we're really busy most of the time.
Enrique is always off somewhere or another working on advertising and other business deals.
Meanwhile, the rest of us are usually hard at work on the actual releases.
But yeah, it's very busy. I also don't believe the public e-mails are checked very often, for better or worse.
Edit: Whoops, sorry for bumping, I didn't notice the date.
