What the hell's so different about Magic Butterfly on Hard? I swear it's the same damn pattern it was on Normal (Where I have a 90%+ cap rate), but I died twice in a row on it.

IIRC it's the same pattern on all difficulties, but it speeds up. Quite a lot. :V

You know, I really, really hate playing Touhou on Lunatic for one simple reason:

STAGE.

FRIGGIN'.

ONE.

Around half an hour later, I got out of EoSD Stage 1 once. And I game overed on CHINA. Two deaths as Demarcation was clearing.

Disclaimer: The above only applies to games not named Perfect Cherry Blossom. PCB's Stage 1 is loleasy, but it makes up for it with CHEN AND ALICE.

Damnit damnit DAMNIT YUMEMI

Four deaths and a game over on the final stage yet again. >_< The first life went very well and lasted for ages, both of us losing hearts at around the same rate... pretty sure I was close to a win. Second fight was TERRIBLE, I lost in under a minute doing a load of utterly retarded things... same for the third round. Almost the same thing happened for the fourth round, too... I was at half a heart and no bombs while Yumemi was at 5 hearts and a bomb to spare. Then, somehow I managed to hold out for another two minutes or so, slowly whittling down her health until we were both at half a heart and bombless. And then, of course, I get clusterfucked, with a boss summon, an L3 and a load of EX attacks at once. Sort of impossible to survive that one. <_< GODDAMNIT.

Yeah, that happened a lot for me as well before I finally managed to do it.
You really need to get lucky with the AI's mood during the final stage.
In my case Yumemi completely broke down and died in record time.
I remember going "what" when she exploded out of nowhere.
Keep at it, you'll get that 1cc in no time if you keep this up.

So I'm currently up to the self-mutilation phase of rage because of Pandemonium...I cannot defeat it no matter how many resources I have going into it, no matter how hard I try I cannot break the loop it creates. There's NO MOVE that will hurt her, and every part of the attack is timed perfectly so that you CAN'T hit her at any point. And worst of all? Nobody's going to tell me how. Nobody's going to tell me how to break this cycle because nobody plays this fucking game AND FOR GOOD REASON. And until somebody proves otherwise I refuse to believe that video of someone beating it without taking damage with Yukari was done without cheating.

Just cleared PCB extra for the first time - best run I've ever done of it by far, only 2 deaths, captured a few of the things I usually miss out on, etc...

...And the replay desyncs on Ran's first nonspell, so I have nothing to show for it. Even without any fast forwarding at all, or anything. Le sigh. I thought it was just SA replays that had this problem. :l

Where do you have trouble? Red Eyes Hypnosis is impossible until you watch a replay (really, I can't explain it in words) and realize that it has an absurdly simple loophole.

My god it's like the deathbomb time in UFO is 0. The god damn thing is so easy, so within my grasp. If I just bomb everything I can do it... But there's just this psychological barrier that says, "Screw you, capture everything or you're nothing." I want it to GO THE HELL AWAY.

Man, it'd be nice even if I got an improvement over my current 2DNB run, but nooooo this just had to happen at this point in time to make it a 1D2B run.

As an aside, I've worked out most of the things now (again; improvement). Apart from luck-based shenanigans like this (replicating lasers) I just have to survive the post-boss fairies...

God damn it... Two massive UFO failures in one night... I went into Byakuren with 3/5 because of some absolutely retarded mistakes at Murasa (including two deaths to Murasa's survival, plus a bunch of other random deaths in her stage, and I missed millions of UFOs in Stage 5), and I expected to get to Flying Fantastica with you know, like 2/0 or something. But no, life had other plans for me. A clip death at Purple Mist, then another clip death on her non spell card immediately after that. Yes, that is the one that's basically straight lines of purple bullets with just four grazable lasers aimed at you.

On the bright side I got to Flying Fantastica 0/1... and ended up dying at 15% with that 1 bomb still in stock...

When Satori moves down the screen too much, impossible walling occurs due to the nature of the non-spells. The Marisa hitbox doesn't help either.

Same thing applies for Syou, Murasa and other bosses with pseudo-static non-spells. And only non-spells.

Man, I suck at Touhou this morning. I kept dying at least twice before even reaching Stage 7 in PoDD, and then I gave up and tried to capture cards in PCB only to also repeatedly fail at capping Stradivarius. Have to retry Stage 4 so many times is annoying. :V

PCB Stage 4 is one of the most annoying 4th Stages in Touhou.

It's only less annoying then MoF i think, and maybe UFO.
