Satorin RAGE Thread: Volume III

I make it to stage 5 with Marisa A in Subterranean Animism. Only problem? Because I try not to waste bombs I only had about 3 power, making it hard to take out the enemies at the start (yeah, you can just stream the aimed shots and avoid the not aimed ones, but if you don't kill stuff early on that part gets really annoying really fast) and when I die without bombs in stock I only get 2 back, which is akin to having just 1 power for any other type...

Naturally, I did poorly on the stage and end up with only about 3 lives with which to fight Orin (I entered with at least 5 since I did surprisingly well against Satori). I proceed to back up into a bullet on her first attack, get forced to bomb her first card, die on her second noncard, do fine on Spleen-Eater until I panicbomb at the tail-end of it, and proceed to do horribly on her next noncard, before dying to Needle Mountain since I somehow forgot about the wheels and was trying to position myself in preparation for the tiny bullets.

Oh God now I'm just tired of EoSD Extra...  Well it's not the Extra that I'm tired of, it's the stupid stage.  When I get to Flandre, everything becomes fun, but the Stage is like omg I'm so tired of the same crap over and over...  I'm bored of staring at Silent Selene trying to pick out paths through it.  I'm tired of Royal Flare sniping me when I should pass through it unharmed.  The pattern in Philosopher's Stone is getting boring...  Boooo....  I'm taking a break off of EoSD Extra

Look at my edit :V Though I did screw up and die to that too afterward, probably because of a drop in playing ability due to "NO!!! WHY??!!!!"

EDIT: So, I went through the rest of the run. Ended up dying THREE times on Mai, once during the stage part of stage 5, twice to Yumeko, and once to Shinki (On Devil's Recitation) I have no idea what happened here, honestly... I was almost surprised to have completed the run at all after failing Mai so badly...

Crap.  I totally forgot how to do UFO Stages 1-4.  I'm back to square one for a UFO 1cc...  God damn it   And it's more like I don't remember how to capture UFOs properly, which leads to stupid deaths trying to chase random ones down.

Well yeah, but that just means that the bar's set higher; a 400m with MarisaB is probably about as impressive as a 350m with MarisaA. To be honest I'd prefer to use MarisaA myself because of how much easier Flandre becomes (I can cap Q.E.D. semi-consistently with MarisaA and haven't capped it yet with MarisaB), except that I'm trying to get a decent score in the tournament thingybob. :V

Okay, seriously, why does Satori's Straw Doll Kamakaze have so much HP?

The "straw" the dolls leave behind like to wall me if I stop focusing on misdirecting the dolls for too long and Satori likes to move around a lot.  Combined with the fact I'm going to have half power (at best) by the time they get there means that I'm going to be timing out that attack, which means no additional power gained... Just lovely when I'd prefer to end Return Inanimateness as soon as I possibly can.

Yes, neither attack is particularly hard, per se, but I never seem to be able to end Straw Doll before the timer runs out, and if Return Inanimateness lasts too long I start getting nervous and have to bomb to save myself.

I can now consistently reach her with 4 lives, I even capture cranberry trap and maze of love and still I can't beat you! I lost freaking 2 lives on starbow break (one of them was when trying to reach the safe spot  ), some day flandre, some day I will beat you and use you as a carpet!


On the other hand I captured cardio-whatever, the blue ball card

Fuck Satori on Hard mode! She is incredible BS. Those ReimuA cards... they are all terrible. Well, not so much the one in the middle but still stupid. There is nothing fun about that battle and "butterflies" are bullshit of another world. And of course BoWaP. DON'T YOU DARE TAP A PIXEL TO MUCH TO THE SIDE!!!

Holy hell that pattern is dense! The lunatic version i got a capture rate of 2/10 of including some timeout attempts. My capture rate of the hard version is 1/30. I could of course use bombs but where's the fun in that?

Fuck, i don't know if i'll do better tomorrow after getting some sleep but for now... Orin is lol-easy compared to Satori.

Weird. The butterfly card is easily done with 1 bomb and BoWaP isn't that bad....the "wave" part got me most of the time. 1/17 history.

More PoFV bug silliness: if you're playing as Sakuya and release a lvl2 spell while your boss summon is stopping time from the other side of the screen, you spend the gauge but don't clear shit. As if the scope made for sideswiping spirits in the late game wasn't enough.

You could always use the safespot that works on all difficulties and gives thousands of grazes :V

Utsuho gives out more lives than she can take from you. Except I use more than one fucking bomb per noncard/spellcard

i cannot capture anything she throws at me, bomb everything and no matter how many lives I reach her with, i always die at the exact same point... I mean... WTF =/

Normal or Hard? I'm not sure if it works well on other difficulties, but her "two suns" spellcard on Normal I usually dodge up-down instead of left-right, positioning myself about halfway between the center of the screen and the left wall.

Also, take your time on the non-spells. Don't try to get through the waves to go back to the center if you screw up, it's easy to mess up and clip.

I know but i don't like bombing. I perfected Orin at Hard difficulty pretty quickly and i want to do the same to Satori so the butterfly will be a huge speedbump in that mission. Maybe i'll just decide to bomb it anyway and just make it no-deaths. BoWaP will always be a card i don't like, but i'll just have to get better at it.

So last time I got to Shinki in MS, it was the first time I ever fought her. I did pretty well up until that attack where the yellow...blob...things...come at you. I didn't even realize they were bullets and lost all my lives.

Yesterday, I got to them for the second time and was fully prepared. I prepped myself to dodge and...lost all my lives!

Holy fuck, how do you dodge those things without bombspam.

I hate my laptop, I can't press z and x at the same time due to wiring or something. So everytime I have to bomb I have to release z and he needs a few 0,1 sec to register that so it takes even longer for a bomb to activate.
Result: many failed EoSD deathbombs

I think that you need to do an unfocused dodge right as they come at you.
They'll return in Extra :V
