This is why the PC-98 profiles on the Touhou Wiki need a serious going-over. I once rallied people around here to update Elly's profile, and even then it's still pretty scant.

People might get more interested in the PC-98 games if the character profiles are interesting. Might. The gameplay is still not for everyone (I enjoy it).

Poor guy was abandoned by Reimu, after all the adventures they had together, and didn't even receive a single word of apretiation from her... And now everyone else is even more joyfull towards her recent saving the world keeping silly youkai on the line, that they forget she ever went to this Makai place at all, much else that she had a talking turtle as companion. If the franchise dies with its original owner, it won't be much of a franchise won't it?
I believe Touhou has a large enough fanbase to support itself that even without the official creator, (like Gene Roddenberry) the franchise would be taken up by those who are willing to invest and make it go on.
I won't be surprised if Tasofro decide to do it, although a variety of others will climb on ZUN's body and continue his ever growing empire.

Hey, maybe there will be even better stories, stories that make sense, humor and doesn't end with tea parties!
At least by that sense, it will actually make sense to watch a Touhou anime.

as good as it sounds, that's one of the worse things you could do. it's one of the things that makes Touhou so out there and unique, just like the incredibly imginative character designs.
