Windows 10 EoSD error??
« on: May 21, 2016, 02:41:40 PM »
I've gotten my physical copy of EoSD recently, and have been having some problems with getting it to play. The windowed screen pops up for around a split second before spouting out this error: http://prnt.sc/b6p9x5
All of the other 2hu games I have work fine in English non-unicode, though they didn't work when I set my non-unicode to Japanese even the other pre-MoF one I own, IN.  :V
I'm going to go ahead and assume it's because of how the game's older, but I still need some help. Thanks. Watch this all be solved by me trying something simple.

Is the game installed in a directory that contains Japanese characters or other non-English characters? If so, rename the directory and remove/replace all non-English characters.
Also make sure the game is installed in a directory that doesn't require Admin access, i.e. not Program Files.
Playing Touhou since 18 March 2012. Playing video games since 19XX.

...I re-copied it from the disk, switched to Japan locale, and it magically worked.
Thanks for the help, though.
Ahaha I guess I was right about the quick solution to my problem oops
