Wont end up buying the DLC anytime soon because I simply dont play enough(or at all right now) but if I had to pick one of the DLC chars Id totally pick Bayonetta despite never playing her games because she looks fun as heeeeck.

Corrin looks like a nightmare of an opponent in team matches though, plus THAT RANGE.

I attempted to play some multiplayer matches... every single match I played, there was at least one or two Clouds. Tournaments were worse; a Cloud player made it to the final in every tourny I was a part of. It was insanity~  :V

Cloud is actually way better than I thought

His weaknesses were really apparent at first, being poor recovery and throws, and the rest of him sort of screamed "another swordsman kit"

Except he actually has a projectile

That can be charged

And it can KILL

It's like if you just gave Ike or Roy Samus' charge shot

Unlike every other sword fighter there is no way you can just camp him because of both his limit charge threat and his projectile

Also his range is crazy, he feels like the only character with real range since all the other sword fighters either have stubby swords or are super slow like Shulk. And almost all his moves are good. His downtilt is especially great because you can basically punish anything at mid range easily, and it even slides under projectiles so it's really hard to camp him.

His limit break special even have invincibility frames like holy crap

Also his best attack by far is Upair holy shit it's one of the best Upairs in the game

Had to pick up the game on a friend's console for a bit to enter a small doubles tourney run by the school's engineering club. We somehow managed to win despite many close calls (mostly my suicides habit) and this really good team with sheik and cloud. I was Shulk but had to switch to Cloud to deal with his Shulk before he switched to Sheik and omg she just completely shits all over Cloud with zero percent combos. Forward throw, fair, fair, fair, bouncing fish, death.
There were quite a few Corrins, which scared us since we only downloaded her after the tourney, though thankfully none of the people who used her were good. Also I noticed that everyone uses her black costume, but yeah that's clearly the best one. I got to try her out after we got her. She certainly has a lot of tricks. Her aerial side b seems really hard to punish but really easily useful for punishing or zoning because of its long, diagonal downward reach. Her bair if you reverse short hop and fastfall it seems like you can juke people out and punish rash movements. I can sometimes get to ground side b right into the ground if I mash quick enough, might catch some off guard. I was practicing side b hopping in place to see if it could be good for unnerving the other player, but you can't do anything in hop mode except stab so maybe not too useful. Her recovery is like a nerfed version of Pit's, but its still good recovery especially since her bair can get her some horizontal distance. Side b is also amazing for recovery since you can get a jump back, though likely situational. Yeah, she seems really cool. Her side smash isn't as bad as people make it out to be, but that could be from not getting many matches in with her yet. I think it's ridiculous that charging it has a hitbox though. Neutral b is amazing and unlike other charge moves it actually moves faster at max charge, which I know caught me off guard more than once.
Haven't seen a single Bayonetta in the tourney, her counter is balls broken but she seems a little unwieldy otherwise.
Thoughts.

They are probably not as broken as the top tier trio, but they are certainly up there.

Paying for a trash character would make people upset, but I wish they could buff the lower tiers a bit too. Poor Zelda.

Eh corrin is solid but no way he's op aside from counter being silly but that can be easily avoided

Bayonetta is potentially #1 tho. Her strengths are overwhelming and her weaknesses can all be circumvented in some way

Witch time might be the strongest move in the game.

It's ridiculous, essentially an auto kill at any percent while also being the safest counter in the game.

Corrin's counter is silly but only kills at low% in specific circumstances like you counter a smash attack + they DI the wrong way or if he lands it in the air. It's also super unsafe on whiff just like the other counters.

Bayonetta's is theoretically a guaranteed kill at any% off any move as long as it's not stale.

Doesn't help that it's on Bayonetta who's already a solid character without it
