I'm interested but not hyped... Unreal Tournament has a special place in my heart. Before it I didn't really care for first person shooters too terribly much, but UT was the first that I played that encouraged the keyboard/mouse setup.. I imagine there were other games that did it first like quake-something maybe. I'm not sure, but for me it was UT... in any case, I was wow'd, and I liked the whole team arena thing rather than the typical commando killing hoards of monsters thing too. The mods and mutators and whatnot was also a huge plus.
Then UT2k3 was the first game I saw with ragdoll physics. Back then I was tired of games featuring better graphics over and over like it was the #1 most important thing, I wanted physics but never heard of ragdoll physics after buying ut2k3, I was excited to play it, did so, played a 1on1 match in some mini training arena thing, and my jaw dropped as I saw the enemy corpse crumple aind bounce against the wall, seriously.. it was a holy shit moment.
ut2k4 didn't really do anything extrodinary but it was my fave game in the series, great game, I played it more than like 3 any other fps games combined, love it to pieces.
I'm not too hyped about 4 though because 3 was a bust to me... no more high mobility multiple jump/dodge/walljump mechanics and whatnot. One of the things I liked about ut2k3 and 2k4 was that it was a fps game that kinda rewared evasive habits equally to good aim. But UT3 was slow again so that good aim trumped it.
of course, I have great respect for the unreal engine, and what it has done to gaming as a whole, so even if I don't love ut4 as a game like that, a new engine upgrade could be big news.
