We're back in Baltimore for another sweltering convention packed full of people, guests, anime, trinkets, more people, games, and questionably clean fountains.

Descending upon the BCC this year is the usual surprisingly-large crowd of touhou fandom, and yes - the return of the touhou panel! It's still alive, it's still kickin', and it's still mostly Kilgamayan making mean comments about your waifu.

Many guests this year including the incredible seiyuu Romi Park, prolific director Kishi Seiji, Shaman King mangaka Hiroyuki Takei, and many many more (seriously, the guest list is jam-packed this year). Concerts announced thus far are all-girl rockers Draft King on Friday and ... all-girl ska band Oreskaband on Saturday. Both should put on a great live show.

Probably not coming this year, but who knows? Maybe they'll announce a guest I really want to see last minute and I'll day trip it down again.

Kind of a ~effort~ year for me but it's OK. Cosplay is Lon'qu and thief Bartz who were respectively done several months ago and too easy to trip me up. The only things on the schedule are the Touhou panel and Bad Anime, Bad! 90% of it will be hangoutcon.

OH HOT DAMN ORE SKA BAND?! I may have to 3rd wave my way to that. Crap crap decisions decisions.

Gonna be there, it's gonna be good, [insert more obvious things here].

Also hoping one of my other friends can make it, which would skyrocket this from "gooooood" to "absolutely fantastic", but I guess I'll have to wait and see on that.

I haven't looked at panels or anything but other than the Touhou one I barely ever go to any ANYWAY so whatever. Either way, fun times ahoy!

Full disclosure: I would legit do this for an entire panel if I knew all of the other panelists wouldn't drag me out behind the BCC and shoot me.

Maybe someday I'll apply for a "Your Touhou Waifu A Shit" panel at some con.

No Fun Allowed (TM). Although I don't recall it being on the roster the last time I went to see it at Otakon? I sorta just assumed it was since it's a staple at so many mid-Atlantic/New England cons.

Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity.

My personal theory is that the notes for each panel looked like ABSOLUTELY DO ~~NOT~~ SCHEDULE THIS AT THE SAME TIME AS THAT AAAAAAAAAAAAAA the sheer number of otherwise obvious oversights is baffling. That and the initial upload was clearly not finished if only because they leave a null NOT_YET_IMPLEMENTED row on the damn thing and Otakon kinda scrambled and was like "yeah this is totes done and intentional what are you talking about" the next morning

The (not) Bad Anime Bad panel is right on top of the Touhou Project panel which means my panel viewing plans for the weekend are totally shot. :colonveeplusalpha:

Did that on Saturday, and again today. They neglected to update the tracking info and now it just says delayed (instead of expected delivery of 7/17), so :V

I probably ought to look at the schedule at some point huh. And pack. I have a few hot glue stragglers to attend to and then 100% DONE but all the meat and potatoes of my silly getups can get packed at this point.

Also I finished Some Things for the Art Show (click for bigger view)

I got 5 of those frames for 6 bucks, and the final one was one I had picked up that I didn't wind up using last year. Even with a coupon, Michaels/AC Moore wants at least $4-5 a pop. Thanks thrift shop you're a real pal :3
