Yeah; time zones are an annoying little thing in terms of organisation.
I waited until 6:30am for you ;_;
(Ended up with 3 hrs of sleep, took another 3 hr nap afterwards so oh well)

Jeez, played too much tower control and rainmaker to the point when I played splat zones today I scrubbed so much (also the other time I played with some local girls I just met my rank dropped back to B) needless to say I havent gotten back my B+  :ohdear: partly due to the maps on rotation not being my best (saltspray and bluefin)

I always die to a nozzlenose, so I want to use it, but it requires spamming the trigger button (or learning to time it) but I rather use a brush when it comes to spamming

I haven't played much with the Nozzlenose either; but I'm planning to at some point. More than likely after the Splatfest is over, since we know how serious entertaining those are~ XD

Also, stream is done! Had a technical issue an hour in where the stream cut out; but thankfully held up fine during the 2nd part. Timer on my phone says 2 hours and 47 minutes; which I'm happy with, considering my goal was about 3 hours maximum. Not sure if anyone came by, but hey, it was fun; and Puppy will thank me for it because she now has more gear and weapons... though we all know she'll still end up being a roller girl~ :V

I've got the amiibo challenges to do for her as well now; which I'll stream another time~

Apologies for the double post, but one day before the Splatfest...

And Nintendo announce two new weapons! Both will appear tomorrow morning; so anyone who wants to practise with them before the festivities start... good luck~ ;)

Also, the Bamboozler is an amazing name~ :V

SplatFest, reminds me I need to select Aori-chan for this one, aka singing.

Bamboo thing is a famous childhood "weapon". Wonder how much damage it is going to do and how it is going to act. Because of the Heavy Splattling I am not going to guess any more. Curious also what load-out the new NozzleNose will have.

I kinda wish there would be mode individual ranks (i.e. a separate rank for TC, SP and RM each) because I?m fairly good at TC (thanks to the Luna Blaster being OP in that mode), but pretty terrible at the other modes.

Btw does anyone know how much defense up you need to max out your defense? I?m having two defense mains and tree defense subs right now and I?d like to know if it would be worth getting even more defense.

First time I've ever had to play my own team was today, and it comprised like 25% of all my matches today. Lol Decepticons gonna be salty af once the totals are tallied.

Bamboo is like a medium-range charger. Does not one-shot at full charge. No idea what to think of it.

SplatFest EU beginning in ~11min. Aori-chan, I'll do my best!

Got up to Champion and called it because I've got to go back out in an hour and that's good enough. Mostly did okay, had a lot of dumbshit teammates and never found a great team to keep re-matching with for free wins, but still won more than I lost. Turns out I should have just stayed home and played this morning, the board game tournament I went to instead of playing this morning was awful.

Didn't really see much of the new weapons. Did anyone else? I think I saw them both once, on the opposing team, and they didn't do much either time.

So originally, Splatfest was going to be a smooth weekend like the last one. Then two things happened...

A) Mum-in-law decided to stay over the weekend
B) Work dumped hours on me, out of nowhere, on Friday

This meant I missed the start of the Splatfest for the first time. I finally got started at about 8:15pm. It's now 00:22... and guess who is the biggest idol in the world? This squid!

So yeah, roughly 4 hours of straight splatfesting; with a couple of breaks thrown in for good measure. I think I lost 6 matches in the end; had a ridiculous spree of wins with the same team. Also, came against a fellow singing team twice; which compared to not having a single one during the last splatfest, means voting wise, it could be a bit more on one side. Just hope the wins add up too~ XD

So yeah, Kamiko has obtained 4 MAX titles out of 4 Splatfests. So proud of my little Inkling~ <3

{EDIT : Forgot to mention. I only used the Slosher. I have really warmed up to the bucket at this point}

Went to a convention hence no late night splatting for me :<

Saw a inkling cosplayer though, when I inquired about what region she plays in, she replied that she has only touched the game once.

Speaking of Inkling cosplayers, I'm kind of planning on doing that for Shuto Con 2016. Look forward to it (if I get around to finishing it). I've been scoping out parts to build an IRL Aerospray and my Inkling wears common, mall-purchasable clothing, so after that I just need to do something about my hair.

European SplatFest:

Voting: 46% vs 54%
Wins: 57% vs 43%
Totals: something vs something

Team Singing aka Aori-chan wins by far.

That's 4-0 in SplatFest!

4-0!

The streak is real! The squid train has no brakes! XD

I sort of knew Dance would get more votes, but that sweet gap for the wins... again, I had a feeling it would be like that just off the fights I had. It does mean that Puppy is 1-3 now... I had best sing to her to make her feel better, teeheehee~ :V

^5 mate. It is like a gamble each time but I was really worried for being with Aori this time.

Honestly I expected more votes for Singing and then more wins for Dancing. Was viewing a S+ rank dude on Twitch who was Dancing. From his Splatfest ranking he lost only 3 games in total. But of course one person doesn't makes a difference when hundreds of players are playing. Or maybe thousands.

Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrghhhhh I managed to get back my B+ but of course I lose it in about 5 games so salty over my teammates not inking up bluefin's walls I take like 3-4 attempts to always reach the top with my roller and by then of course I always more often than not get splatted by an opponent  :colonveeplusalpha:

I think I'm going to quit ranked. It is seriously, genuinely not fun any more. At one point I was one game away from B+,  but I just dropped down to C+ without winning a single game. Not one. Single. Game. Over and over and over and over I keep getting teams that just won't play. Almost invariably I get one teammate who just won't go more than a few feet from the starting area, won't even get close to an enemy, and ends the match 0/1 or 1/1. That seriously, literally just happened to me four times in a row.

I mean, I'm blaming my teams here because over and over I'm finding that the objective is constantly 3v4 or 2v4, but the common factor in this 15 consecutive losses or whatever it is has been me, so I can only assume I'm doing something horribly wrong. Is there some significance to "guy who just swims back and forth in front of the starting area for the entire match" that I'm supposed to be deriving meaning from? Is that a signal for me to do something that I'm too dumb to understand? I'm not doing anything differently than when I was higher rank, so how did I even rank that high if I'm this bad? Did I just get lucky and get carried up to B? Has the game changed somehow that I haven't recognized?

Edit: It literally just happened again. I can not even win C+ matches now. We had a guy who kept getting a quarter of the way down the map, then super jumping back to the starting area, then getting a quarter of the way back down the map. He went 0/4 and we got completely stomped. WHAT IS HAPPENING.

Honestly no idea. All I know is C region and B- is bad from personal experience and other people's stories. Though if I hear your story, it seems B / B+ are also suffering.

What modes are you playing by the way? If I were you, I would avoid Rainmaker at all costs. The mode is too team dependant and 30s knock outs happen on A region too. TC is probably your easiest bet, because you can carry while your dumb team mates try to ride the tower.

Tower Control and Splat Zones have contributed to this losing streak. Rainmaker is the only one I can win in because, for some reason, people can actually figure out what they're supposed to do in that one in the lower ranks. I guess I attribute that to the thing I've talked about before where unlike Tower Control the person who you're supposed to be defending can compensate for dumb teammates to some extent by being cautious, and even a clueless person carrying the Rainmaker usually basically knows where they're supposed to go, making carrying them easier for better players. But because of my schedule (or maybe just bad luck, I don't actually know if Ranked modes follow a fixed rotation) Rainmaker is almost never up when I have time to play.

I started back on a modest win streak yesterday by switching to Ranged Blaster in Splat Zones, which let me carry way more effectively than my skill level should allow because people walked into it a lot. I started winning about half of my games, which was not even enough to get me out of C+ but at least I didn't drop down to C. :V

On an unrelated note, does anyone know why Turf War isn't a ranked mode? It's kind of the thing the whole game hinges on, so it seems weird that it isn't at least in the rotation as one possible mode. I suppose part of that probably has to do with the fact that all existing ranked modes are on five minute timers and Turf War for five minutes would make the first chunk of the match semi-pointless, but there's no reason all ranked modes have to be five minutes long. It would be a change of focus from the existing objective-heavy modes, but I'm fine with that. Variety is fun.

My brother recently took a new Nintendo ID from C- to S+ to see how quickly he could do it, and he noted that while C range teams are almost universally bad, B range is where you'll see a lot of wildly varying levels of skill. If you lose a bunch of times in a row, it really could be that everyone else is bad!

Yea that is what I was wondering too. Why isn't there ranked Turf Wars. I guess Splat Zones sort of fills this in but still.

The rotation also on modes is bit dumb and make no sense. Sometimes you see same mode twice in a row. Maps should be also on 3-map like SplatFest instead of 2 maps per mode. But that is maybe because we don't have enough maps yet to realise this.

What about A and above? Sometimes my games make no sense at all. Actually, whole ranked system makes no sense sometimes. It is exactly how commandercool described. You have those numbered losses causing you to derank. And getting even 'on-par' is suffering.

I dropped from S 50 to S 18 after 10 games or so. It is quite frustrating that you spend 5 minutes per match, that is an hour and effectively losing more points.
