Touhou 6 - 9 won't work on fullscreen?

I saw another topic about this but I thought I'd create a new one because the problem I'm having is slightly different. Basically whenever I try to run any Touhou game from 6 to 9 the games run in the background but I won't actually be able to play them? They'll show up on my Task Manager but not on my desktop or taskbar and no sound will play. I've tried disabling the DPI settings and changing my screen's resolution but nothing works.

First time I've heard this happen with 6~9. Usually it's with 11 and 12, and it's windowed mode that has the problem. Can you get to the window with alt-tab, or at least see the window in the alt-tab preview?

First thing I'd do is reinstall the games somewhere, really.

The games wouldn't show up in the ALT-TAB preview and reinstalling doesn't help either. It might be due to my monitor/stretching issues so I can post info on that here;

Technika Model 22-880 and my native screen resolution is 1980 x 1020. I'm also using Windows 8.1
