Rather than being just a mini-skirt, Flandre's skirt is actually what they call a "wrapover skirt".  By analyzing the full profile from the background of the Extra Stage Boss Fight and recovering the lost colors, and comparing it with the sprite, the two white pins holding the wrap, and the trim height differences are clearly shown.

Before awarding the hide-and-seek award to the pins, aren't there official illustrations of Flandre where these pins are clearly not there ? (not saying that she only got one dress, huh)

Neither of those were drawn by Zun though, although admittedly it could very well have changed over time. Just look at Cirno's outfit from EoSD where the blue part of her dress was more like a pinafore.

Plus, if it's a detail people never noticed, then it isn't to be expected that guest artists put it in. Especially when they aren't given super strict art directions, as was likely the case in books like BAiJR, PMiSS, GoM, etc.

Aside from the black pupil, there are 4 small, red "pupils" in each of Yamame's eyes.
That's actually a pretty neat details. Though that means biohazard-eyes Yamame is still fanon
