>"...Reisen?"

>"That her name?"
>"You knew that." Kanako chides her wife.
>"Well, if you say so." the eccentric blonde says as she takes another swig.

>Let's go drop by Patchouli's and see if Sanae is there. Though give Reimu a little friendly wave of acknowledgement before we step out.

>Kanako smiles again. "Of course. She's been hoping to see you again."
>"Tell her the beer's on!" Suwako adds, waving her once again empty mug.
>Giving Reimu a friendly greeting, which both she and her bodyguard Kohaku return, you make your way past the blue haired woman, who seems much less annoyed with a cup of ale in her hand, and out into the cold. A few short steps next door, you knock politely on Patchouli's door. Moments later, the purple haired mage herself opens the door, to your slight surprise. "Byakuren? Thought you'd be Kanako."

>The neophyte mage nods and pulls her door open wider. "Come on in."

>Nod and enter

>The air in here is damper than you were expecting, even more so than when you were here the other day, and the scent of salt water hangs heavy in the air. You stop yourself from wrinkling your nose at the smell, and from blanching at the memories it stirs of that battle with the Water Champion at the CRA. Low volume music floats through the thick air, a Bonn opera if you're not mistaken. Patchy does enjoy classical music, though someone has turned it low to accommodate easier conversation, which is what is presently going on between Sanae and Reisen. The two women are seated at a small kotatsu, and based on the ease of Sanae's smile and the energy in her voice, she appears none the worse for wear for her experience yesterday.
>Weirdly, though, you spot some of what you believe to be magical accoutrements out in full display. The bowl Patchy was using the other day is sitting on the kitchen countertop, next to a trio of jars containing different kinds of powders, and an open book written in Bonn sits not far from it. Considering that Patchy's experiments are supposed to be hush-hush, seeing evidence of them out in view of a relative stranger in Sanae is most unexpected.

>Would these seem like obviously magical components if we didn't know Patchy (or magic) very well, though?

>Let's go over and say hello

>Let's go over and say hello

>Likely. The powders in the jars don't look all that much like spices, and the open page of the book contains a diagram of some kind of mystic symbol.

>"Byakuren!" Sanae cries as you make your presence known, her big smile growing bigger. "How are ya?"

>"If there was, you'd never finish your walk, would you." Patchouli remarks dryly as she sits down at the kotatsu, while Reisen and Sanae laugh at her wit.

>Walking up to the kotatsu, you now see why Reisen isn't quite sitting as close to the table as normal. Hyozan the big malamute is layed out on her lap. The big furry lug is warm enough without any technology needed. "Where's Rin?" the rabbit asks you.

>"Yeah, that's her normal habit." Sanae says with a nod.
>Reisen seems as surprised as you were when you saw Suwako's choice in activity. "At this time of the morning?"
>"Mom doesn't really care about time of day the way other people do. Except when she wants to do some serious drinking, then she tries to keep that until the sun goes down."

>"I'm not bored when I'm home." Sanae chuckles. "Besides, Dad- Kanako always says she's making up for lost time."
>"Why do you do that?" Reisen asks her. "Call her 'dad' AND 'Kanako'?"
>"Well, she gets embarrassed by 'Dad'. But I like it, so it's a hard habit to break."
