When we went as a group down there two years back, one machine was bust and the other was in use. We didn't get to alternatives such as 4-player Turtles in Time, either, rather splitting amidst the games. It was still absolutely fun though! :P

Anyone have an idea the chances of scoring a cot if we're arriving Friday afternoon (pre check-in)?  We have some flexibility in room tetris but mixed gender arrangements are complicating that a bit.  I'm pretty certain when we rolled in at like 9pm Thursday last year the answer was "lolno" but I gotta try  :ohdear:

Yup

Tokyo Attack (formerly known as Bemani Invasion before they decided to move beyond rhythm gaming cabinets now) now owns an arcade machine of Table Flip. Get hype.

That isn't going to undo the years of latent stress that the IT profession lays upon its practitioners.

You don't understand.  I've had to fix things my entire adult life.

I'll assume you mean in addition TO as opposed to a replacement, yes?  If they take my DDR away I'ma riot.

Ok not really, but it would REALLY put a damper on things for me there since that's one thing I spend a -lot- of off-time doing.

Yeah it's moreso them expanding from more than just rhythm games rather than converting/replacing, so don't worry, the DDR/ITG2 machines should still be there (and my Touhou/Vocaloid Pad Packs will be on the ITG2 machines as well :V)

So I'm working on my schedule of bands anyone have some must-sees I should add?  Pretty much everything I wanted to see is either before noon or after 6pm  :V

My short list - all non metal so jot this down Reddyne!

Triforce Quartet for your string quartet fix
Super Guitar Bros bringing out the acoustic guitars
missingNo a super cool jazz band of super cool dudes who went above and beyond when I emailed them for some help setting up my Secret Santa gift so you all better come see them too

Thaaaank yoooou. I figure I'll consider the Super Soul Brothers, Kirby's Dream Band, Bit Brigade, and Descendants of Erdrick as well. There are many of us out there who long ago lost interest in the kind of death metal scream that would kick up waves on the Potomac but still aren't 100% sold on the kind of things that Grandpa would play if he were dj'ing for NPR after downing some valium with his sleepy time tea while in an optometrist's waiting room.

The weather report I check had rain->snow showers Friday evening/night but I think we'll all be beating that sans MJP depending on when it starts might delay his flight.

Room arrangements finally finalized and nearly everyone has paid with the exception of two people who would prefer to pay in cash munny at the con which is perfectly fine. Everything's been hammered out and other (reliable) people will largely be getting others into their rooms. All it took to get it done was the IRON FIST of a BRUTAL DICTATORSHIP. Nearly everything's packed and what isn't is simply in bags next to my luggage. All the costumes were checked to ensure all their parts were there and the props have a fresh coat of paint. MP3 player got a 2 gig update for the ride there and back plus there's two previous issues of Pop Sci that have been waiting for the opportunity to be read. Travel begins early tomorrow morning and our driving buddy has mapped out the route.

Errrrrgh everything's so cloooooose.

Don't you dare mention the s-word mister.

Just rehearsed with our alto sax buddy and this isn't even half of the music - majority is duets but still have one or two trios up our sleeves.  Anything else we add will be played at drunk o'clock so people can't tell when we inevitably goof up cause we're sight reading this shizz :v

I'll certainly need to make sure to stop by wherever you set up shop when you're doing that.  Sounds like it'll be quite the show~!

Also 2 days left hype get etc.

Sounds like they're offering comped alternate lodging and free parking, at least.  Good on the Gaylord for stepping up there; I know some hotels most certainly wouldn't bother.

Colette is good people she would have made sure they comped somehow.

Reports are they're getting sent to a hotel by the airport which sucks but yeah at least they're getting rooms and parking comped.  I had called Monday to make sure I can check in for MJP's reservation cause we split it so I know we're ok but :ohdear:

Does she trip over herself apologizing and stuff, too?

Still, I feel bad for everyone who had to deal with this hassle.  Good luck to everyone who got relocated because of that!
