[Day: 3] [Time: Afternoon] [Weather: Rain]
>Flinch away from Kasu's untimely and flashy death.
>Drag his corpse to the lake to wash it off
>Check his corpse for the spellcard.
>(to Daiyousei) "I- I'm sure he's fine. He might come back when he respawns. We Outsiders seem to respawn when we're here in Gensokyo."
>"Remember your comment about going to the Hakurei Shrine would be suicide? I died a few times here, and I respawned eventually."
>"And, I have some odd feeling that something's going on at the Moriya Shrine. Could you point me there?"
>Inventory
[4] Although Kasu's corpse is charred to the bone, the spellcard seems to have remained intact. There's not even a singe on it.
"I- [...] Gensokyo."
"I see... So if you died right now, you'd be able to revive?"
"Remember [...] eventually."
"But it'll still hurt a lot when she... skewers you with all those needles."
"And [...] there?"
The fairy points to the mountain across the lake.
"It's right on top of that mountain. Is there a party there?"
Your inventory:
- Several knives
- A short wooden stick
- Kasu's spellcard
- Map
- Wallet
"Ay, sorry. Just a lot going on in my mind s'all. I'm not from this world, I'm pretty certain. I was experimenting with magnetic fields to try to bend space-time. The outcome was unpredictable, but it worked, and here I am. The fact that I...
> Glance over at an object on the ground.
"...can do this...
> Lift the object nonchalantly.
"...would be considered impossible in the land I am from. Yet you say it's not unusual here. And by the way you refer to the "Human" Village, I can only assume that humanity isn't alone here either."
> Ignore the happenings at the mountain for now. After all, hastiness is an anti-virtue. You don't know what's over there, you don't even fully understand your own power yet, and chances are that taking action will likely somehow end in you breaking no less than 4 laws of the land. Or dying.
> Instead, query@Akyuu: the rules of the land, how you should use powers, "how powers usually work", if escape from Gensokyo is possible. Try to mention that you sense trouble on the mountain.
> Take a handful of seconds to focus intently on the mountain. Try to discern what might be going on, via... uh, magnetolocation?
> As a thought experiment, pray intently for a bowl of petunias to materialize approx. 0.68 miles above ground level, at X,Y coordinates nearby your own. Know exactly what they're thinking, should they in fact manifest.
< Are there any (canon/player) chars in a wider area around me? [Amplify search with Magnetolocation, which is totally what I'm calling this now. Look for abnormal magnetic signatures.]
< Additionally, did the bell actually ring?
[4] "Ay [...] either."
You manage to lift a pebble up as you speak to Akyuu.
"Yes. That's true. While the village is usually safe, all sorts of youkai roam this land. Many of them won't hesitate to kill you for food."
In response to "rules of the land":
"As long as you don't provoke them, they shouldn't attack you. If they do, you're free to do whatever you please in self-defense."
In response to "how you should use powers":
"Don't hold senseless competitions that compare powers against powers. You'll end up causing nothing but harm to those around you, as well as yourself."
In response to "how powers usually work":
"Depends. Most humans don't have any special powers like you do, and thus they live in fear of the youkai that do. Those like you serve to protect those who don't."
In response to "if escape from Gensokyo is possible":
"In short, no. The only place you can return to your world is the Hakurei Shrine, but a series of recent incidents involving an outsider who started a revolution caused the shrine maiden to snap. She ended up killing everyone who wanted to leave, and expects that nobody else ask her to open the barrier separating Gensokyo from the Outside."
In response to "trouble on the mountain":
"There might be something happening up there. I can't tell, but if you sense something awry with your powers, my best guess is that you should follow that sense."
You focus your sense of magnetolocation towards the mountain. Abnormal energy signatures tell you that your intuition was spot-on correct.
A bowl of petunias materialize at the location you specified. They're considering whether hummingbirds will come to pollinate them.Nearby characters, in order of increasing distance from your current location:

> The setup right now couldn't BE any better! Snatch up the pendant of miracles and focus its power onto yourself!
> Get Dudu clear and take the shrine maiden down for good!
> You... Nearly sacrificed a young girl's life for this revenge of yours... No, no, we're not setting up for a Bad End here. Make things right.
> Get Sanae or one of the other goddesses to Haruko's wounds.
> Use the pendant's power to revive sock.
> Leave the scene, and swiftly. After that little stunt you nearly pulled, there's fair room to assume the others won't want to see you around for the aftermath.
[4](+1)(+2)(OH SHIT 7!!!!)
BGM: Timestamps are in parethesis. Follow along for maximum epicness.(0:00) While Dudu Zombolt restrains Reimu, you dig through an unmatched sock's remains and pick up the Pendant of Miracles, placing the orb in the palm of your left hand.
(0:12) You smack your right hand against your left palm, shattering the orb. Bright light flashes from the glass shards, instantly adding 2 to your roll.
THE ORB OVERRIDES ALL!!!(0:23) Screw Sanae. Screw Kanako. Screw Suwako. Screw gravity. You bend gravity to levitate Haruko towards you. She's coughing up copious amounts of blood. Her ribs are shattered. Her neck is broken.
(0:35) As she falls into your left arm, you raise your right hand above her body, fingers spread out. A glowing green ball of light materializes, and you let it grow to the size of her body.
(0:47) Once it's expanded enough, you cast it down upon her. The ball absorbs into Haruko's body, undoing her life-threatening injuries seconds before she slips away.
(0:57) "I'M NOT DONE YET!" You point towards the splattered remains of an unmatched sock and flick your hand upwards. The torn remains form a swirling cyclone.
(1:10) The vortex continues spinning, piecing his body together bit by bit before it subsides.
(1:20) You sprint off the ledge of the Youkai Mountain and take towards the skies in the direction of the Human Village. A blazing blue ball of fire in front of you ensures that anything coming in your direction will be instantly vaporized.
>Deeelicious. Leave that new money on the table, since it's all I have to pay with (whoops.)
>Leave the sashimi shop, and look for anything nearby with information on where I am and what's going on.
[5] BONUS: Your next roll gets 1 added to it.
You leave the money you found on the table and leave. As you walk out onto the streets, you see Kappa talking to a purple-haired girl in a kimono. Naturally, you'd want to eavesdrop on their conversation, so you stand beside him to have a listen.
Money -?538>Great. Uh.
>Provide epic confrontation battle music to pump up allies
Wait that succeeds unconditionally?
uhhh
>enchant music to buff allies' stats
[3] It doesn't look like your allies need any buffing. The Pendant of Miracles is more than enough to ensure that nobody dies this time.
The hell did I do.
>Commune with the voice while subduing the miko, non-lethally.
[6](That's twice in a row!) "HOLD ON! HOLD ON TO HER AND DON'T LET GO UNTIL IT'S TIME!"
You continue to pin her to the ground as the God of Creation uses you as an entrypoint to Reimu's soul. A repulsive force breaks your hold against her, sending you rolling backwards until you lean against the wall of the Moriya Shrine...
...By the time your reorient yourself, you notice that the shrine maiden is lying of the ground in an unconscious state.
Well, I had a post written up, but due to my wireless adapter being a general [insert expletive of choice], I've been unable to upload it. Seeing pat's command, there are two ways this could happen, and I shall list for both scenarios.
If pat's revival is a success:
>Upon revival, create that sun barrier I talked about last time, for protection.
>Gather bearings of what's going on now. If the shrine maiden is still hostile, cause her to internally melt down. I personally have had enough of her crap.
If pat's revival fails (copied from what I initially typed):
>...I failed her...That does it. Reform in full Yatagarasu splendor over the Hakurei shrine. If I reform elsewhere, head to the shrine immediately.
>"So, you boast about adherents to your shrine? Then let us see if they will still visit a charred landscape to pay tribute. You may be a vessel for gods, but now you have ANGERED one with your self-centered demeanor. AND I DEMAND RETRIBUTION IN HOLY FLAME. Nothing personal...no wait...this is very personal now.
>Will that miracle orb to shatter, and bring forth the full fury of the sun to melt the place down. The shrine, torii gate, surrounding area, and even the area around that. She brought this on herself. Let us see if her selfish mannerisms will continue to flourish. "Will they still trust and follow a girl who acted in spite, and was punished by one of the gods themselves? Will they continue to provide donations to a murderer? I would think not."
>>If in bird-Yatagarasu form, a loud avian screech would compliment this effect nicely. Otherwise (or telepathically), "IF I CANNOT PROTECT, I CAN AVENGE! BURN!"
>On the off-chance I reform near Reimu, fuse her atoms enough to kill her without detonating (or tear apart her DNA with gamma rays), again willing the pendant to shatter or move and break it myself.
Kill me once, defensive reaction to flee to fight another day. I might even forgive. Kill me twice, and I'm mad.
Although, if I fail to reform, then I just wrote an awful lot of stuff for nothing and I will feel foolish. Crossing fingers...
[2] Patorikku conjures a vortex that pieces you back together from your remains. You're unable to create the barrier. It doesn't matter though, since Dudu Zombolt seems to have forced Izanami no Mikoto out of Reimu, leaving her unconscious.
Damnit I missed an update session.
>Ack, it broke! Urgh... gotta reform it before she sets her sights on me, that's for certain!
[2] You shouldn't create an anti-exorcism barrier when the exorcist's unconscious. That would be a waste of
MP energy.
Man, my luck is being shoddy.
>Attempt to revive on the spot. If not, try and respawn nearby.
[6] An exact copy of your body splits from your corpse, breaking the law of Conservation of Mass.
"Whoa! How'd you do that? Are you a ghost?
Marisa runs forward and grabs your hand.
"At least you're alive again!"
