New computer key problem.

Simply my problem is that I got a new computer recently, a windows 8 laptop, but whenever I am playing Touhou and I am holding in the shift key and the shoot key, while these two are held down, my bomb key will not activate, making deaths occur more annoyingly. Any help on this would be appreciated.

My first guess is that your laptop's keyboard is limited to 2 keys pressed at once, which (if this is the case) is sadly a limitation of the hardware.  My netbook does that, and it does indeed make Touhouing rather... "interesting".
You could try hooking up a standalone USB keyboard and using that, though.  There's no reason I can think of that that wouldn't work.

Yes, but some people don't like controllers.  Then again, some people do.

Response, rev. 2: Connect a USB [keyboard / gamepad / drawing tablet] to your computer and that should work fine.

That's almost certainly a hardware problem like said above, laptop keyboards often have it. It's possible you can work around it though. Use KeyScan to test other places where you could play and see if all keystrokes are recognized. Then use AutoHotkey to remap your keys.

So far in multiple laptops I had success using Tab/Q/W/E for Shift/Z/X/C and UHJK for arrows, but you can try other places, or even not change all of the keys.
