If Maya was forced into a group she'd decide on Underground, yeah, but as is she'll stay freelance. There's not much immediate benefit to anything that she cares about.

Level up
Boring level up for Maya, statistically. 3rd level extracts and 4d6 bombs are the big things. The important thing is that she's going to splurge at an arcane library or wherever the fuck you learn 3-and-lower level spells.

Level up spell will be Channel Vigor.
Picking up:
Alchemical Allocation, Extreme Flexibility as 2nd level spells. (2*150 gp)
Arcane Sight, Beast Shape I, Monstrous Physique I, Heroism, Protection from Energy, Water Breathing, Tongues (7*375gp)
Total library costs: 2925

Making potions of all her second level extracts besides Alchemical Allocation: 600gp
Buying a potion of Greater Magic Fang +1: 750gp
Total grog costs: 1350gp

Rest of her cash goes into the apartments.

None of the factions intersect with our Fey friends, do they?
Not really.

Quote
how rare are PC classes? Do they congregate or spread out? What's more common, a standard education (bard college, wizard school) or individual apprenticeships?
Staggeringly common but usually low level.  Spread out.  They teach you this stuff in college.  Remember there are college level XCrawl events.

Quote
Are the kobolds scaly or furry? Do they have big round snouts?
Scales to make Purvis mad.  Snouts are yes.

Quote
How exactly would Brock get into political office? Are there elections?
There are elections, consisting of people voting for the noble who either gave them the most free stuff, or who they're most afraid will throw them to the wolves if not elected.

Yeah the rod is useless for you.  Kinda good for the guy trying to kill you though!  To bad about the being killed part.

Anyway you all get an apology letter from the deliverer of shady deals, stating they've made sure you can keep the prizes you earned.

Thus the question is do you want to go on a vacation and if so where, and if you want that vacation to eat a game rather then being off screen.  I'm fine with any variant thereof.

I don't care too much where we go I already drew this. But it's probably for the best that if a vacation happens that it doesn't eat a game.

Also I'm watching cirque du soleil this saturday with my new inlaws so I will not be able to attend anyways.

Such is the end of all who challenge fate.
No loss so small, no victory so great,
Can obfuscate the lesson we have learned:
The flame of glory just will get you burned.

Oh hey, I just realized: for most of the hag fight I was at 9 hp, so if Koa hadn't protected me with those mirror images I would have died.
I could have (probably should have) taken a couple more defensive actions, such as turning invisible.

I think I'll buy or commission a +2 Mithral Breastplate with Silversheen armor spikes. Cost: 8950 gp
Since I'm not proficient with Medium armor, the -1 ACP gets added to my attack rolls, but I can enchant that away later for 5k.
The benefit is my AC goes up by 2 compared to my +2 chain shirt, and I can threaten melee while holding a bow.

So yeah.  The in between games things that I promised oh two days ago:

Dot - We have spoken on the matter already and things should be good to go, though tell me if you have anything else.

Brock - A Senator named James Mc Carthy contacts you suggesting that perhaps your local district could use a new city council member.

Annie - You have a key.  You can do this solo or as a crew, but I'd need some notice before hand.  Your call either way.

Maira - You get a bloodstained note in your mail bearing only the name Harold Cortez and an address in Beverly Hills.

Maya - The apartments have been improving with the infusion of moneys, but the police have started asking for more bribes now that things are turning around a bit.

Feel free to poke me directly about matters or ask in here about the between game stuff.

Alas there's not much to do but give them what they want. Unless we could replace them with someone more on our side...

Maya's in if Annie or anyone else wants to pull something; though more out of 'nope not letting these guys do something stupid alone if I can help it'

What would Maya think about this idea: renovate B apartments and raise rates, demolish D apartments and build high-rise public housing, demolish C apartments and build park.

Brock would be happy to stand for public office but he would want people to do research and digging around. Find out all about Joseph McCarthy, and the current district councilman, and possible opponents.

I assume the Empire does not have a two-party system, but more of a Pokemon gym badge system where you collect sponsorships and endorsements before and while you run. Brock is confident of the Vestal sponsorship, and his fans of course, but that is probably not enough.

You don't have zoning rights for anything past three stories.  LA hates tall buildings.

Getting deep info on a Senator is, as you might imagine in difficult.  James Mc Carthy is closely aligned with Emperor Reagan, but occasionally strays from the imperial party line, especially when he can target an adviser or clergyman directly.  He's big on public works projects and the imperial legion, but avoids fear mongering over slave rebellions.

Marty Jackson, the current councilman, is a backer of Senator Huffington, who is on the down slide in the urban areas.  While building your own base would be smart, Mc Carthy's endorsement suggests he thinks he could get you the win.  Or at least that it's close.  Of course the more you need his backing the more you're dependent on him to keep the position.

Too bad we don't have a divinations expert on hand. We do have a friendly group of priestesses though.

Rezoning for more than three stories sounds like something a city councilor could do. There are definitely already some apartment buildings in LA with more than three stories.

I didn't bring this up before since we weren't planning on reaching 8th level, but since I took Skill Focus as my human bonus feat, can I get another Skill Focus feat at 8th level as the Focused Study human alternate racial trait?

Edit: a sort of meta question: which Knowledge skills are in the game?  Pathfinder lists 10: Arcana, Dungeoneering, Engineering, Geography, History, Local, Nature, Nobility, Planes, Religion.  I also have ranks in two others, Athletics and Xcrawl, but I don't know what Knowledge Athletics covers and we haven't ever used it.
I would like to eventually put points into each Knowledge skill, but if some aren't ever going to be used I would skip those.

Maya goes missing for a few days afterwards. You do note her car going back and forth between the Church of Hestia a lot; Jane also seems to disappear for a bit. Afterwards they both reappear and Maya shows up with a new tentacle. It seems a little less prehensile than the other one! She assures anyone that asks that it has its purpose.

Level up!
+1 to BAB, +6 HP, +1 to Fort and Ref, 1 extra 3rd level extract, +1 to Dex
New Discovery: Fast Bombs. Maya can now treat bombs as a normal weapon for the purpose of full attacks; she can throw as many as she is capable of attacks per round. This allows her to benefit from her boost to +6 BAB, Haste and/or Channel Vigor, and two weapon fighting if she so desires. She's also capable of mixing and matching the types of bombs, which would be more useful if she knew any other bomb type but Immolating.
New Extract: Remove Disease

Buying and learning from a scroll of Displacement.
New Items:
Shifter's Headband: Stylized as a white ribbon with scale patterning, wrapped around her horn. Functions as a Headband of Vast Intelligence, granting her a +2 bonus to Intelligence and 8 ranks in Stealth. In addition, for the purpose of her Monstrous Physique and Beast Shape extracts, she's counted as a level higher.
Lenses of Detection: +5 to Perception and +5 to tracking rolls using Survival.

She'll hold onto that handy dandy new throwing axe as well if no one else wants it.

Knowledges are Pathfinder standard + XCrawl.  Unless someone feels something vital is missing.

So, I want to use a Headband of Charisma, in the Forehead slot, but I also want to look like a respectable politician who's a part-time xCrawler.
How can I make this work?
My first thought was to put the enchantment on a hat, but no politician with great hair would wear a hat.
My second thought was to put it on a pair of glasses, or perhaps a monocle. I suppose that's not too bad looking, but it would conflict if I ever wore Lenses for something.
Anyone else have ideas?

Conveniently, a bottle lasts exactly as long as a D&D campaign.
